$1500 is out of my budget, preferably something between 500-1k. M looking in pioneer dv610, marantz dv4100 and denon 1740. Any other suggestion? Thanks.

Go with DV610 bro. Great PQ, USB, 1080P, SACD not to mention the price now is really good. Careful with Denon they got lip sync issue but the PQ is one of the best I've seen (based on my experience with 1930).

Hi, newbie here.

FYI, you can now buy OPPO DVD player from its authorised distributor in Singapore. The guy called Sean and he is willing to courier the player to Malaysia.

I recently bought one from him, model DV981 for S$365 + shipping S$30.

Top of the line model DV983 is quoted at $599 before shipping.

No worry about custom duty as he will underdeclare the value. I receive mine in good order direct to my house.

Anyone interested try google for his contact no. from Oppo website...

How is the performance of the Oppo so far? What TV model are you using it with?

Am using the Toshiba 42" LCD, model no. is something like 42WL66.

Was using el-cheapo Chana made dvd player previously, Oppo offcourse stand out compare to it. For a start, colour and contrast have more depth.

Have no chance to do a side-by-side comparison with other players of same class, so I wouldn't know if it is better.

The fastest thumbdrive should be from Sandisk Ducati series.

That is pretty expensive. I got mine some time ago at RM379 at Sen Heng Sri Petaling, and even that was expensive at that time. And yeah, came with a free Giraffe HDMI too.
