Wow, still playing with these proc ah? I though u guys going for i7 already.

IMHO, higher clockspeed meant nothing in real life application. I'm running x3320@3.3ghz for internet and msn LOL. Even GTA4 hardly stressed the quad smile.gif

True, I do not see much diff at 3Ghz or 3.6Ghz, just benchies show increased scores

i am using CM Hyper TX2 and had tried to re-install the hsf a few times. but thats the temp i get.

i think its not just the TIM but its the cooler itself.
something like a CCF or S1284 might be better.

and btw try apply a new layer of TIM and layer it as thin as possible.

dry tissue is ok...check ur casing ventilation too..... try to manage ur cable so the airflow is better....

for quad core it wud be advised to have a good heatsink if u wana OC higher....

and then again, make sure ur contact for the heatsink is tight enuf....

am using CM690, and i think its quite spacious. not much of cable blocking the airflow as what i see.
but even without OC, its already at 50'C, thats make me scratch my head biggrin.gif
am not sure if CM Hyper TX2 is really that bad for the Q9300, but i will check again on the contact point after reapplying the thermal paste.

when full load its goes to 60+C ( rarely full load even when gaming.)
usually hovering below than 60..
