i wouldnt dare to to run IBT .. degrade my proc with the heat produced especially since im running on air cooling D: .. btw ill just stick with 3.4ghz... until i upgrade this year after spm with core i7 ( hope they come out with good boards) Added on January 4, 2009, 12:11 amQUOTE(LeChuCk @ Jan 2 2009, 08:36 PM) Anyone knows how come my CPUID Hardware monitor and Core Temp monitor software shows a 10 deg difference between them?? mine didnt show any differrent in readings.. try checking the bios and see the nearest temperature it is This post has been edited by reiben05: Jan 4 2009, 12:11 AM

Wow, still playing with these proc ah? I though u guys going for i7 already. IMHO, higher clockspeed meant nothing in real life application. I'm running x3320@3.3ghz for internet and msn LOL. Even GTA4 hardly stressed the quad

True, I do not see much diff at 3Ghz or 3.6Ghz, just benchies show increased scores

i just got myself an ASUS Triton 81 CPU Cooler (Supports LGA 1366 and 775) .. i wonder how my temps will go down when i OC the dfi board along with my processor .. just need a good pcie fan that can blow under my NB.. btw also bought 2 Silverstone 120 mm fans that are blowing cool air inside my TJ09 case.. temps are dropping up to 10 degrees D: This post has been edited by reiben05: Jan 11 2009, 12:28 AM

hey guys, Q9300 reporting in with Asus P5Q3 i am really worried and not comfortable with the temperature see, without any load, it is already at 50'C
and i tried increase FSB to 400MHz and run Prime95, see the temperature
i am using CM Hyper TX2 and had tried to re-install the hsf a few times. but thats the temp i get. this is abnormal right?

oh... the TX2 come with the thermal paste, do you think i should get rid of it and apply a new layer? or what do you suggest? with that 50+ 'C at idle state... i can't OC la

okie, will try to wipe off the existing thermal from both end. how do we normally clean it? just dry tissue? i cant believe if i am using the stock hsf, it might be 60'C already?

am using CM690, and i think its quite spacious. not much of cable blocking the airflow as what i see. but even without OC, its already at 50'C, thats make me scratch my head am not sure if CM Hyper TX2 is really that bad for the Q9300, but i will check again on the contact point after reapplying the thermal paste.
