LOL! 7.5x on X3320 is PITA to OC till 4Ghz. or should i say impossible. it's FSB wall of that proc, around 440 - 470.

i just tested my X3320 today, FSB wall at 450. still priming at 1.225V vCore (idle: 1.216; load: 1.200)

i meant X3320 FSB wall is 440-460. 450 is specifically for my proc. at least below 1.218V load. will try 2.5V later

hehe, tested the proc throughly but seem like it hitting FSB wall VERY fast.

450 at 1.2375V Bios (idle: 1.232; load: 1.216). fully stable after priming few hours, few loops of 3DM06

Using P35-DS3P v1.0 with F11 bios. new bios support 45nm cpu. and i noticed that the precision for vCore, vMem, etc has been increased. very precise compare to earlier bios. loadline calibration also available O_o

VTT, GTL, etc not available on P35 chip. it's introduced by intel on P45 board, iirc

side story tongue.gif,
tested my OC 448*7.5 at 1.248v LOAD and successfully run IntelTestBurn 20 loops.
huge jump in temp and needed vCore compare to Prime95 (1.200v LOAD)

3DMark06 15931marks (earlier result with lower vCore and loose timing biggrin.gif)

next mission, finding max OC at 1.000v LOAD

my bad. i just recalled dfi p35 board oso have it. so gayboard p35 missed those function out...

good point is that once u mess with vtt and gtl and u have no idea what u doing, u will end up aiming for nothing. just merry-go-round tongue.gif it's not for n00b like me hehe

update on x3320
430*7.5 at 1.088v LOAD passed 20x loop IntelBurnTest. now test clocking higher with that voltage biggrin.gif

got it from raksasalaut, seamonster

another update, seem like it cant go any higher than 430*9 without failing 20x IBT with 1.088v LOAD (bios= 1.14375, idle=1.104).

screenies and 16000+ 3Dmark06 post later biggrin.gif

first of all, Q9300 VID is higher than X3320, that's why it require lower voltage to OC, at least at lower speed.

for my board, i didnt touch my vFSB and vMCH, only slight bump in vCore. FSB max around 450. any higher require VTT/GTL/etc which is not available on my P35 board sad.gif

VTT/GTL/etc <-- is it available in x48 boards? coz i dont remember anything like it in my bios..or i've missed it

btw,,,vid and vcore is 2 different things eh?
*
VID is intel specified voltage. vCore is the voltage u set in BIOS. x48 should have those setting, as some P35 boards also have it.

download latest IBT, v1.5.1 iirc. using newest stable Linpack. i suspect previous version not that accurate at finding stability but no doubt in stressing haha

currently my x3320 running 448*7.5 1.08v LOAD 24/7 smile.gif

wish can clocked it higher though, 3.6ghz probably? but my FSB wall is 450, probably my P35 board

yes, 54-58C IDLE...

nope, my P35 dont any GTL refs. if i drop any setting of Vtt (VFSB), vMCH or vCore, it wont boot. but that just a test run. dont bother with those insane speed haha

i tested Everest benchmark on FPU, 3.5+Ghz X3320 at least twice faster than a stock quad QX6700. insane...

X48 dont have Vtt adjustment also? O_o

too bad...

vtt is vFSB

the connection between them? not sure haha. normally if increase FSB till certain point, u need increase vFSB and vMCH

ctrl+F1 on my board only bring out mem timing setting. i can confirm GTL adjustment not available on gigabyte P35 board smile.gif

VTT should have on X48, it's vFSB

what's the point of running 3.4ghz and beyond? tongue.gif

imho, 3.4ghz is enough, even for gaming. unless u doing some benching AKA bench ho' lol

my X3320 VID is 1.1750V

i'm running 430*7.5 1.08v 24/7 tongue.gif

that's the sweet spot for my proc. any increments in voltage doesnt justified the extra speed imho
