i think i do it here. so newbie can see also.

this diet is feeding on all hamster for yrs. the only difference is i blended it n easy for everyone to keep the blended food rather keeping the whole veges n fruits. this is explain n into in my wts about how Nutri-smoothie come. and there is no problem with the ww rc n robos eating this diet set for yrs.

it is same on feeding fresh. why most of the info say canot feed too much fresh, it will cos diarrhea? cos there is no one leading to feed the BALANCED fresh diet. that is why diarrhea can happen. ppl who feed smoothie to their hamster can prove on this. if their hamster diarrhea?

if u ONLY feeding fruits to RC of cos they get sick, even human take too much appless can get sick. every diet in about BALANCED, that is why i always CAP LOCK the word BALANCED.

I think Jayniel gotten confused regarding the fact that RC is prone to diabetes if fruits were in their diet. So she straight away assumed smoothie was bad for RC too since smoothie have fruits in it.

Anyway I think Nezu have explained regarding her smoothie. I don't see anyone complaining since it's been all this while giving positive feedback here.

The only bad thing is most of my syrians don't like Red Devil flavor. They are so picky shakehead.gif

Lol, my syrians like red devil the best. Although they haven't tried cool and crazy yet.

Anyway, I'm just interested because I didn't know RCs needed special diets. Who knows, I might get a RC one day..

So for anyone who believes in nezu's products, you can continue feeding. With those that don't basically just don't feed la. It's really just that simple. smile.gif

Sometimes I feel sad that my robos never had a chance to eat smoothies. At least my syrians get them.

well of cos i didnt simply say.. i only raise the matter now after so long cos i dont wanna simply assume.. it has always been advised not to feed RCs with fruits becos of the sugar content.. very few ppl have RCs.. so that's y no complaint so far?

i'm not against anyone or anything here.. there's no benefit for me doing so.. i just wanna raise some concern.. so that all those with RCs can observe their hammies & give proper feedback.. if really no negative effect on their health, then wouldnt it be a new discovery?

i'm not giving a one-off statement & everyone should follow what i say.. but i guess this matter should be discussed in the proper thread & that's y i posted here for everybody to comment & understand my concern..

regarding diarrhea, there are sites that suggest that average amount of fresh will do no harm.. but about feeding fresh to RCs, i've never seen any specific positive comments regarding the matter..

also, someone also addressed the matter to me.. which is why i wanted to ask publicly..

I think somehow you have your own reason not to feed your hamster with smoothie and concern about RC getting diabetes with smoothie. But like you say, someone should prove it and maybe it will become a new discovery. You are one of the hamster owner who have RC, maybe you can start considering of discover this fact. FYI, Nezu's smoothie main content are mostly veges like red pepper, green pepper, apple, pumpkin, corn and etc. I didn't see any high glucose contain fruits or veges in it. She also did her research and study on diet and nutrition content in each particular veges, fruits and grains which she used to make the smoothie before she start making it. All ingredient are freshly choose and expensive ingredients from organic store are used for the smoothie. I'm not here to side anyone but to tell the truth and tell what I know about the smoothie. icon_idea.gif Hope someone out there can appreciate what we can have and get for our hamsters. Of cos, all comments are welcomed for further improvement, I'm sure Nezu will be great to have all feed back no matter good or bad ones from those who tried it. smile.gif

Well if you have heard of Chipmon then you should know of her syrians that she breeds in Singapore.

Nezu have consulted with Chipmon on all the ingredients used in the smoothie so that it is the best for our hamsters.

Anyway I do agree that you should edit your reply as the newbies might misunderstood your reply and say that smoothie is bad.

sigh, everyone being sensitive here.. i am directing to the smoothie, cos it contains fruits.. not to trigger war..
instead of shooting my way of approach, why not look at my point?

if Nezu has tested the smoothies on RCs then the case is settled.. if not, isnt it to early to say it wont harm them? i'm raising concern so that ppl be careful & start to be observant.. if i just keep quiet, do u think it'll be beneficial?

As you said, those RC have diabetes in their genetics, so it'll be their genetic problem and not so much of the diet they take in. Maybe even they just take staple food also they'll get diabetes? Just like human.

let's wait for Nezu's answer.. it must have been tested on RCs for anyone to be SURE that the smoothie wont trigger diabetes in RCs..

btw, if u all did some research, not all RCs have diabetes in their line.. it's a hereditary disease.. therefore tests must be done in different lines of RCs.. this thing, it's all up to RCs owners to voice up.. non-RC owners, unless got a strong point to prove, may refrain from shooting at my way of approach..

@sangles: that's my point.. how if those who give smoothie to RCs happen to have diabetic RCs? they wouldnt have realised it's from the smoothie cos everyone is complimenting it.. the concern is now whether the smoothie will trigger (not cause, but trigger) diabetes in RCs..

ps/ i'm not sensitive la.. even non-sensitive ppl also can see that..

So how to explain for RC who do not take fresh also can get diabetes after some time? I'm asking out of curiosity since you are having and breeding RC, wanted to know more.

Luckily I'm having Syrians. Since RC have so many genetically problems and disorders, like diabetes, flipping, bitty and so on, better don't have RC then. Or else, I'll be very sad if I lost them. sad.gif

i dont think that ALL RCs with diabetes in their line end up having diabetes.. there must be some factor to trigger it..

i do agree that breeding RCs are not easy.. one gotta choose those without genetic problems then only can breed.. that's y i've stopped breeding my RCs before ascertaining that they're free from genetic disorders.. but i have not tested for diabetes before.. all this while, i've only given fruits to my ww & robos, but not RCs, as there are just too many sites which are against RCs taking sugary foods.. Wikipedia specifically mentioned FRUITS..
therefore i hope this will make ppl stop & think (i'm referring to RC owners only, other hamsters no prob..)..

but dont be so against RCs lar.. once ppl start doing proper breeding, perhaps these problems wont be so significant anymore..

happened to read this thread, thought it be good that i share my feeding experience with all smile.gif

though dwarves like campbells and winter whites are said to be more prone in getting diabetics, feeding them moderate amounts of fruits daily will not cause them to have diabetics.

i have reared hamsters for 8 years. i started feeding moderate amounts of fresh food to all my hamsters which include syrians, campbells, winter whites and robos. it soon became their staple diet after seeing the good of it. they have nicer coats, lesser health problems and grow better in size too. btw growing better in size does not mean that the hamster is obese tongue.gif hamsters in US and UK are way bigger than mine and have competed in national competitions to win awards.

compared to my syrians, the portions i gave to my dwarves are 50% way lesser. the idea is to introduce assorted varieties of fruits and vegetables to them in moderate amounts so that they get all sorts of nutritional value of vitamins and minerals etc to live a healthier lifestyle.

i have kept more than 100s of dwarves over these years and i have not had any one of them with diabetics due to this fresh food diet. so feeding half tablespoon of a smoothie blend with only a ratio of 3:1 veges:fruits of a 350ml tub as compared to my portion of 20 cents coin size each of 2-3 assorted fruits is really minimal.

besides myself, i've had many friends who also put their hamsters on this diet and all of them have seen and believe the good of it nod.gif

for those interested to know what are the list of veges and fruits that can be fed to our hamsters, can refer to these links that i researched and documented few years ago. though not a complete list of all the vegetables and fruits that i have fed, it has covered most of it.

List Of Veges
List Of Fruits
