how do you stop them from fighting each other?
*
You throw in a referee hamster to stop the fight rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Everyone been saying separate them into their own tanks is the only solution to stop them from fighting each other which could lead to death sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Not fighting doesnt mean they wont dude
They ll have stress too
When they stress, hearbeat rate increase and more prone2 decease
(Correct me if im wrong)
*
When hamster gets stress it could lead to wet-tail disease which is fatal if found out late.

Yes, for life. Don't worry, they will not get lonely. They prefer to live alone. The reason they fight is because they don't like to stay with each other. So why force them?

What about mine?
I guess mine is 1 male and female.
Both of them like to smell each others genital doh.gif doh.gif . Sometimes the male like to kacau the female coz female always make noise when the white put 'his hand on her body' then the female will sleep like 'frozen'
then each time i open my Habitrail Ovo cover and check on them what they doing, the male always run then find things to do or act sleep. shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

Not sure whats happening..they sometimes walk together then run in the wheel together.

(Sorry for my Poor english + duno how to explain sweat.gif )

It better to know now than to experience it like we did with our solid umbrous, DigDig, we brought back from Penang. Was heart broken when he passed away due to wet-tail.

What breed again? The only breed that actually likes company until I can almost say as NEED company are robos. All the others do fine on their own. Especially not syrians. Syrians NEED to be alone.

If you don't want to breed them please separate them. Syrians don't like living together and can breed a lot. I'm sure you're aware that 1 syrian needs 1 tank. If you don't separate them soon, you'll need to buy 10 more tanks as opposed to 1 more that you have to buy now.

Well you better separate them now if you don't want the female to be pregnant. The female froze is because she is on heat. All females hamster will freeze when you touch them when they are having their heat.

I think the male is still not tamed yet that's why he ran away when you open the Ovo.

If she gets pregant and give birth, the female will be very defensive and scared. She might eat all her babies when you house her and the male together or she will fight him and it will get ugly.

The explanation here is pretty simple:
Any hamster that is not robo, need to be seperated. Even they don't fight now, doesn't mean that they WOULDN'T fight, it's juz the matter of time.

The robos have to be from the same batch. If different batch or age, they will fight also.

That's why it is better to get a pair of same sex robos in 1 go than get 1 now and get another later.

Erm~~~ sounds like my current situation. I got a female robo which i got from jayniel few days ago, been tried to intro to existing pair but failed. Now i'm keeping the new robo alone in another cage and hopefully will calm it down and relief the stress.
The new robo will start screaming even if there is another robo across the splitter... headache.... rclxub.gif
