thats why i am sad. Cuz they could never remember each other even they stay together for so long. looks so heartless  cry.gif

the reason i keep all the babies is because i saw somebody write a story of a hamster's life. the story talking about how the hamster being abandon and throw here and there when nobody want to rear it. and how pain it feel when her children was given away.

even i know it may not be real, since all of the people said that hamster got no emotion. but i still feel unbearable to let them separate. at least can let them see each other even not in the same cage.

anybody know the reason of hamster fighting? i wonder how can i stop them so that they won be separate  cry.gif
*
There is no way to stop them from fighting. You can only separate them into diff cages. They will live happier if they are alone, they no need to fight for food bowl, wheel, or even toilet...
What can really do now is either separate them or give it away to good homes. I believe tat there are many good homes available out there which can give them food and shelter, and they will live happily ever after.

It depends on what hamster. If say dwarf species, they would need to be in pairs or groups but I didn't mean by female and male.... It can be all females or all males. The Winter White would have a hard time living in pairs or groups unless you cage or tank is extremely big with many hiding places because WW do fight once awhile without any reason.
Russian Campbell hamsters would fight if a new hamster enters the group. They would squabble for dominance, same with Robo.... Robos are the best in groups, they build their own hierachy. About dying from separation, that rarely happens. I have dwarfs living alone after their tank/cage mates died, can live up to 3 years and no problem.

For Syrians it is different. They need to be alone coz God made them solitary. Their lifestyle is to live alone and only come together in pairs to mate for a few moments.

About communication..... group hamsters would communicate.... living alone doesn't make them stress. They would just have all the space and freedom, less stress actually. That's why dwarfs living alone can sometimes be fat coz they have no need to run about chasing other hamsters off territory and their life is very laid back. This is why we must provide them with hides, a proper wheel and hay, to make them active.

Yes, it is normal. So not to worry. Only worry if it drinks alot of water, have drastic weight loss and is running continuously at a certain place or doing back flips.

Bean fell asleep flat in front of the house again...

She seems a bit lethargic, so it's kinda worries me. Scared she didn't get enough water also, since I've not seen much flow from it.

kcng you're gonna be so greatly disappointed... All robos love to pee in the wheel... There are only very small minorities who doesn't do it. The wheel is their ultimate treasure. So you can say they are marking the wheel as theirs i guess?

^ Lol, I never thought about it that way! But my robos always mogok when I take out their wheel. They will all jump into the wheel when I'm lifting it out. I can imagine them saying "If you're going to take it, you'll have to take me too!!" or something like that. biggrin.gif

Robos are really such darlings to have once they're tame. I miss my robos a lot...

But ur robos seem quite big to let u notify their sex ady. Mayb becoz they are small in size... brows.gif But a male wud hav a yellow stain on the tummy which is the scent gland.
Anyway, to me robos are the cutest among all the hamsters. watching them playing and mock fighting are quite fun. tongue.gif If ur wheel is big enuff, they will run at the same time also...
