It scream when another WW jump on it. then it will like lie on the floor with 4 legs face up. recently found some of its fur drop. just small part. and it like to shout a lot these few days. both of the WW like fighting each other, but not looks like serious fight oso. because the screaming WW din hav serious injured. BTW my another hamster act a bit weird, she smells the genital part of the screaming hamster n even bite it T_T she even do this to her own little furry kids T_T it is a female ~_~ can anyone explain to me?

i found out My another white WW's chin was wet. and i think its the inflammation of its pouch. any solution for this? it looks like clean out the things in her pouch edi. do i stil need to bring it to vet?

^ Er... Hiroko, what kinda hamsters are yours? hmm.gif As far as I know, if the parents are tame the babies will be so much easier to tame, because the mum teaches them stuff.

Hamsters are afraid of sudden movements. You have to bait them with food everyday on your palm and slowly move a lil bit day by day. Let them get used to you and the fact that you move.
*
Winter white ~~ their mums are tame ... but not really tame oso ... like sometimes know me ... sometimes dunno me rclxub.gif they can suddenly become alert of my hand ... but actually few minutes ago they just eat on my hand LOL

very impatient with the babies lor ...so long time edi still so scare of me .... always run away when see my hand ... SAD cry.gif

yeah, it is kinda tedious to saperate them.. and they seems to get along each other smile.gif
plus im rearing this hamster because my friend wanted to release them into the wild.. i was afraid they are not used to it thats y i bring back
seriously, i dont fancy giving my hamster something meaty like grasshopper and mealworm.. egg is okay as sometimes i did gave them boiled eggs nod.gif oh ya, my hamster NEVER has a bath.. not water not sand bath..
*
blink.gif MAN!!!! u have to bath them!!

buy the bath sand. it won cost you much. then put the bandsand in a pot or bowl or buy a bathroom. they will roll inside. or buy hamster shampoo to spray on them.

change the bedding so that it hav clean environment to recover.

u may consider to clean the cage as well. and put under sun.

my friend's hamster got weird disease. even is the picture is not clear, u can see clearly that its stomach is totally BALD! i wonder is a congenital disorder or it still can be cured. it looks fine. according to my friend, when it was young it already has fewer fur than others. and now is completely bald. anyone face this situation before? will it get cold easily?

i faced that before with my Winter White( Pikachu and Raichu). They lost their fur around the limbs and stomach.

i din have to go to the vets at all as i have googled about it before.

you must thoroughly clean the cage and dry it properly.

the affected area must be sprayed with hamster shampoo and you must dry it.

i find that feeding egg whites help tremendously.this is not what i say, but it's proven scientifically. proteins help in building healthier hair in hamsters( human too).

put a small container with sand bath in the cage. they seriously love to roll on it. the sand is supposed to pick up dust and other fine dirty stuff on hamsters' hair.
*
But i dun think it is dropping fur ... it was born like this ... somemore its just 2 months ... so basically i dun think its cause by bacteria or wat.

Well, you can ask your friend to try these tips. Go to Jusco and buy Nutritional Yeast.... about Rm12 a container, humans can take coz organic. Include a small drop of cod liver oil, mix the yeast and oil with something sweet like yogurt with some ribena or honey. Let the hamster lick a bit daily. If this does not help with the fur growth, then it could be adrenal tumors or thyroid deficiency..... How to treat? That I really dunno coz our vets in Malaysia have limited knowledge and experience with hamsters.

Here is a website about yeast being beneficial for hamsters in cases of fur loss.
http://www.geocities.com/calhamassoc/Yeast.html
*
i repeat again, it is not fur loss. But it born without fur. If it did not affect its health. We no need to take any action for it i think. My friend still will take care of it.

What I was putting is that your friend may be able to make it grow a bit more fur with the nutritional yeast. LOL.... I know it is not fur loss but then I'm giving you an idea on what could be the causes.... like adrenal tumors or thyroid deficiency because no one would know until the hamster is tested.
*
oh ... But has you tested this method before?? I means ... the method looks like kinda ... risky?
I just want to know whether this illness will endanger its life or not ...
So kesian that fellow... my friend said sometimes feel that its body is cold ...
scared it get cold easily ...

Yes, almonds are best not given coz there is always a chance a bitter almond may come about which can cause death to hamsters. There are so many different type of safer nuts, so it is better to avoid almonds than risk it.

Hahaha.... I do alot of research before advising people. Sometimes I learn methods from my friend who is a vet.

Once I had a RC which had fur loss but at the weirdest place.... it's eyes! It would look like a panda with naked eye rings. I thought mites.... but we found out the problem. It was allergic to something in Prestige hamster food. As soon as my friend, the vet change the diet to the normal Habitrail, the fur grew back! Funny.... that's the 1 and only weird fur loss problem.
*
eh ur RC also had fur loss around its eyes? My friends hamster also having this problem. But she claim that is because the hamster is old ... it is a years old like that ... so it can be cure? cause i saw the hamster like that i thought it is blind ... LOL but my friend said it just aging ...

Hm ... the method u mention is quite complicated... i wonder my friend willing to do that or not ... hmm.gif

BTW how many hamsters u got??? i wan to see Hamsters army!!! sure very cute one laugh.gif

Nutritional yeast give one pinch and sprinkle into the staple food once a week. Cod liver oil the same, break the capsule and squeeze into the staple food.

Nutritional yeast once a week is good enough and will keep your ham in good health. Cod liver oil some hams don't like the fish smell and may not like the oily feeling. Cod liver oil I use less than half a capsule for one bowlful of staple food, so it's milder.
*
can anyone show me the picture of nutritional yeast? don really know what is it? is is consumable for human? wherer can i get it?
mix with the staple food won make it like ... dense? blush.gif

hey guys, i just separated my 7 hamster into appropriate order.

my 2 female was fighting 3 days ago but they get along quite well before that. i force to separate them since one of them injured.

and i have to separate my baby boy with baby girl and their mother so then won' breed. sweat.gif

my question here, will you feel unbearable when you separate them and settle them in different cages? i feel so sad as i cannot see them sleeping all together in a small house again .... cry.gif

Juz separate them for their own good. I think you will prefer watching them cannot sleep together than they draw blood on each other. I was once told tat hamster got no emotion like humans, so juz pretend don't know don't care. Maybe 2 weeks later, they will barely rmb each other.
*
thats why i am sad. Cuz they could never remember each other even they stay together for so long. looks so heartless cry.gif

the reason i keep all the babies is because i saw somebody write a story of a hamster's life. the story talking about how the hamster being abandon and throw here and there when nobody want to rear it. and how pain it feel when her children was given away.

even i know it may not be real, since all of the people said that hamster got no emotion. but i still feel unbearable to let them separate. at least can let them see each other even not in the same cage.

anybody know the reason of hamster fighting? i wonder how can i stop them so that they won be separate cry.gif
