juz be patience, luckily the one u hav is RC, not robo, else i think u long time throw them out of the window ady. Juz leave alone them 2-3 days first, hamsters can easily get stress when come to a new environment. juz rub ur hand with their bedding b4 u try to reach them. But at the end, everything comes to Jamien's Golden Rule for Taming -> Love+patience=sacrifice
*
Lol, byte, it's Love = Patience + Sacrifice

biggrin.gif But thanks for mentioning. It's so nice that people are applying my golden rule.

As mentioned, leave your hamster to get used to the new environment. And it is my policy to always make your hamster come to you, not the other way around. So I don't do scooping.

vmad.gif i spend most of my time after lectures juz to get to know them...i think i juz get syrian, i saw my friend syrian is so tame; no bitey2..my friend juz allowed it to freely walk and play outside his cage...so jealous, my RCs were like small tiger... vmad.gif

Like they already said, if you bought from pet shops you must be ready to put up with the biting, timidness, etc. Coz they are not used to human touch.

Although I read that RCs are more prone to biting..

Syrians are just bigger thats why they are easier to hold. Though syrian bites are said to be worse than dwarf hamsters as their teeth are bigger. What happens if you get a syrian that is just as bitey as your current RC?

^ Syrians can also become bitey, cuz only tame hamsters don't bite. Ferro was bitry as well when he came. He striked first and looked later. Now he is tame, he doesn't bite anymore. Ferro was bought from a petshop. Now he's a darling.

Worst case scenario, u'll have to let them bite once or twice to realize tat ur finger is NOT FOOD...

if finger = treat, they will nibble your finger and try to taste and eat.

if finger = threat, they will bite your finger and attack it until the finger goes away.

the difference in treat and threat is just 1 H but it can cause a lot of damage if you don't approach properly.

Anyone seen the new OVO Loft? Looks like 2 OVOs combined together to be big. The steel top grill looks like for better air circulation on the top. Looks expensive too...

The OVO Pad is about 1 feet in size if I'm not mistaken. This OVO Loft's length looks about 2 feet long if put 2 OVOs together...

Found the size in french review site. Dimensions : 68.5x32x26.6cm

All the while i think tat OVOs are not so practicle, same case on this also. Even it looks big, but got a lot of "dead corner" that will bring u headache during placement of toys and etc. And not to say, guaranteed expensive!!!

Tat grey color place where the hamster sitting in the pic, is actually a so called "chewable cardboard maze", so putting things on top of this platform is no so gud liao~~

It's just looks nice. Not practical for syrians though. Maybe dwarfs? Hm... Another question how much toys do you guys put into the tank with your hamster? Currently all my syrians only have a wodent or sanko wheel, brown clay bowl for toilet, 2 Ikea glass candle bowls for dry food and smoothie, a toilet roll, and a small plant pot as their homes. Anything more I feel that it is very cramped for my syrians in the 2 feet tank. In zoozone2 is a different case...
