QUOTE(SSJBen @ Dec 4 2008, 11:15 PM) Make sure your NAT is Type 1 or 2 first. Then make sure the wireless range of your PS3 and router/modem is not less than 50%. Finally.... pray to god that screamyx don't screw you up when you want to connect. i think,i think la,my connection was always less than 50% when i was connected the last time, btw, the range is..? and what's NAT? i think mine's NAT2.. last time can connect, then now sometimes only can connect.. QUOTE(ZalaDestiny @ Dec 4 2008, 11:26 PM) Put PS3 in DMZ will help too.. DMZ?

Since I got the ps3 I've spent many hours reading up on networking. DMZ, Port forwarding, MTU tweaking etc...I've done it all. I've concluded that at the end of the day you are at the mercy of your streamyx line. Right now I'm trying to figure out if certain ip blocks gives better connection...

Find it stable with PSN. You are right. It won't do much improvement tweaking the port settings and putting your PS3 on the DMZ, as you know that our ISP is quite notorious in blocking connection and the wonders of their QoS (Quality of Service). quite funny at some point. Finally supporting the original stuff after years of gaming, been with pirates, hope is not too late to change, with ps3, everything is original. However, we are all now being restricted by the connection line of our broadband service provider. True and sad, but reality are reality.

DMZ? De militarized Zone. There should be a setting in your router which adds specific machines, of your choice, to the DMZ. I suspect this is what ZalaDestiny is trying to tell you.

QUOTE(slickz @ Dec 3 2008, 12:18 PM) GOTSent 0.24b beta crashes after I select my MKV file. Any ideas what could be the issue? The file is 4GB and resting on my HDD bump. Any ideas?

Err, guys, has anyone else encountered that their PS3 game screen just goes very darkish after a while. It goes darkish then bright then darkish : / I was playing Uncharted and was fighting off some zombies and then that happened - the game was impossible to play after that. ADD: The screen becomes darker than normal when entering dark sequences in games but when it's bright, it's okay : / Help anyone? Doubt it's the lens problem since the menu itself is dark. I've tried tugging at the HDMI cable, pressing the On button to reset video settings but still same problem. Only happened since I updated my firmware. I suspect this is what ZalaDestiny is trying to tell you. Sidenote: Which also means putting your PS3 into a zone without any single port being blocked by your router. In other words, your PS3 is virtually naked to the outside world.

I've tried tugging at the HDMI cable, pressing the On button to reset video settings but still same problem. Only happened since I updated my firmware. Already answered your PM regarding that. Anyways, for those having the same problem I might as well just tell you guys as well. The 2.53 firmware udpate automatically enables True Color(or RGB Full Range in the PS3's XMB) and Super White if your PS3 is hooked up via a HDMI cable. So for those who all this while is using a HDMI cable but did not enable True Color and Super White should probably notice that your images look darker and in bright scenes the white levels are much brighter. Its not a problem with your console, so fret not. You can just disable them if you do not like it under your Display settings.
