Err, guys, has anyone else encountered that their PS3 game screen just goes very darkish after a while. It goes darkish then bright then darkish : / I was playing Uncharted and was fighting off some zombies and then that happened - the game was impossible to play after that. ADD: The screen becomes darker than normal when entering dark sequences in games but when it's bright, it's okay : /

Help anyone?

Doubt it's the lens problem since the menu itself is dark. I've tried tugging at the HDMI cable, pressing the On button to reset video settings but still same problem. Only happened since I updated my firmware. 

Thank for the headup... i was planning to watch movie from MP4 or avi files (supported right?). And also listen to MP3... getting some christmas song for the coming season . So all i have to do is save all the files from the thumb drive and plug into the usb to save it into my ps3 right?

I read the whole thread, look very interesting but kinda complicated for me to set up all this...
I usually watch my normal rmvb on my laptop, so dont think I need to stream to my ps3.
But i was kinda interested to know, besides bd movies, you can actually play other movie format from the ps3? I tot ps3 only play bd......
So what format does the ps3 support?
I can just download the movie from the internet and save it into my ps3 hdd?
Wasnt that much easier and cheaper than getting a BD movie?
Any recommended free site to download these movies supported by ps3?
Also can i just save the movies from a friends pc with my external hardisk and transfer it to my ps3 to play?

yup manual 192.168.1.101, tried enable disabel upnp and even on off media server.. still stuck after obtain ip

When u setup the network connection.. use scan (i publish my ssid also) then next next next... until saved. DONT test on spot
then u exit and go sign in. U can try only once every ~1 min to sign in due to ps3 slow to release cache or watever coz it keep getting dns error if i try to reconnect fast2
If really shiat and cant login u have to turn off ps3 and reconnect again (sign in)...

Hello PS3 veterans, I am brand new to the PS3 gaming scene.

I have updated everything... and signed up for PSN. However, where do I download all those game demos ? I mean, everything I do something, it says "Not available in your area / region etc. etc."

I signed up with my home address... Malaysia that is. Why can't I do so ? My Internet Browser works perfectly.

I really want to get cracking on the latest game demos... etc. etc.

PS : Is it me or is Streamyx connection to the PS3 really bad... like it showed error updating my firmware and had to restart again and again. I tried it at night (about 2.30am) and it was a lot quicker and completed the update.

how many times should i explain it...its not that difficult to think...if u wanna buy asian ps3 ( which edition ? ) if u buy Singapore Edition then u must send to Singapore to claim the Warranty , SONY MALAYSIA WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY A/P SET , SONY MALAYSIA ONLY ACCEPT PS3 MALAYSIA EDITION.

Singapore > Must Send to Singapore ( Sony ) > For Warranty

HongKong > Must Send to HongKong ( Sony ) > For Warranty

yeah, i still remember the first time i got my PS3 (Jan 2007), there was no such thing as bg downloading.... try imagine downloading GTHD...up to 90%, got disconnected.....sigh
