quite funny at some point.
Finally supporting the original stuff after years of gaming, been with pirates, hope is not too late to change, with ps3, everything is original. However, we are all now being restricted by the connection line of our broadband service provider. True and sad, but reality are reality.

Ok guys, i got my PS3 about 3 weeks ago, and all i do with it is playing games. So i really wish to know, what else can i do with my ps3?

I know i can play BD movie, and going to try later
I know i can go online, and done it, but too troublesome, i got my laptop all the time with me, so online seem less useful to me through ps3
I know i can play online games, havent try before, but i recon to be very lag cause i only got a wireless broadband at the mean time, so maybe next time

Besides that, what else can I do with it? Or what do you guys usually do with your ps3 besides playing games?

Thank for the headup... i was planning to watch movie from MP4 or avi files (supported right?). And also listen to MP3... getting some christmas song for the coming season . So all i have to do is save all the files from the thumb drive and plug into the usb to save it into my ps3 right?

I read the whole thread, look very interesting but kinda complicated for me to set up all this...
I usually watch my normal rmvb on my laptop, so dont think I need to stream to my ps3.
But i was kinda interested to know, besides bd movies, you can actually play other movie format from the ps3? I tot ps3 only play bd......
So what format does the ps3 support?
I can just download the movie from the internet and save it into my ps3 hdd?
Wasnt that much easier and cheaper than getting a BD movie?
Any recommended free site to download these movies supported by ps3?
Also can i just save the movies from a friends pc with my external hardisk and transfer it to my ps3 to play?

ahh.. no wonder, never get pass the sign up cause havent update the ps3 yet....

I heard if your line is not stable, or frequently disconnect, is risky to update directly right? Cause it might cause error..???

btw, see if i am wrong abt this...

After downloading i will get a file PS3UPDAT.PUP

In the usb drive create a folder name PS3. In this folder i create another folder name UPDATE.
Then i put PS3UPDAT.PUP in the UPDATE folder.

Connect the usb drive and go to Settings > System Update > Update via Storage Media

Hi i finally get into the latest ver on ps3 and was browsing the PS3 store, so here a few question....

1. I am in the demo section, does all the demo free?
2. If i choose to download the demo, say half way i dc or i do not want to continue and log off and switch off my ps3, what happen to the downloaded file? I have to re-download everything?
3. If half way downloading, and i got dc, will it harm my ps3 system?

Hey i just experience something here...
I was playing a demo and suddenly the screen went kinda grey, so i press everything from the controller, and no luck.

So i press and hold the power button to restart it, turn up to be ok now, but anyone know what happen?

ps: there is no disc is the ps3 during the incident

haha the never ending demo which i play like a real game, pacific rift... wakaka

I need some help here...

Few days back, i try to download a demo (warhawk) and which i reached 99%, its say there is an error in the download, and no matter how i pause and resuem it back, the error keep appearing, so i guess it might be corrupted or something.

Yesterday, i successfully downloaded the bioshock demo but as i wanted to install it, it say installation fail with error. I try again and the same message pop up.

So it's normal for the above to happen?

My connection is slow, so each download usually take days.

Please help. THank you
