Whats MDR? I have a fren who just got work in the admin department for one company, she starting out 1650 but it maybe just probation, the funny thing is that her employer give her work permit only. I thought she would get at least an S Pass or EP since she has a degree in mass com from the UK.

Just 2 ask, getting a work permit, s pass or ep is it dependent solely on your qualifications or whether or not your employer preference to apply for you either one?
*
mdr actually a company name
for the work permit they have certain criteria
but it depends on ur boss wanna give which permit also

So the boss has the final say on whether you get a WP, S pass or EP?

Is it possible for your boss to apply you a EP or S pass if your academic qualifications doesn't entitle you for one?

Also lets say your qualifications are of either S pass or EP level, can your employer give you a work permit rather then an S pass?

Erm. For E/S Pass, he should refer to MOM, not ICA. biggrin.gif
ICA all regarding about immigration, PR, etc.

http://www.mom.gov.sg/publish/momportal/en/home.html
S pass requirement min is $1800
E pass requirement min is $2500

I am degree holder, on probation period now at $1850. sad.gif

Tuas jam, but not as bad during the period of mas selamat. Now the jam is still consider okay, less than 30 min you can clear already. And it is much better than Woodland causeway. Morever, just go and apply for access card, you won't need to queue at the check point, less crowd.
*
yeah aggree..during Mas Selamat time is worst...i stucked at causeway and Tuas for 2-3 hours.....
waa 30min can clear aaa....what time is that??/...coz normally during peak hours I take ard 1 hr or 1 hr plus...causeway nowadays also almost the same but sometimes it take me not more than 30min also to clear sg customs....

bro...btw what do you mean by the access card and no need to queue???.....

I think he misunderstood. non sg pr/citizen can drive malaysian car go in singapore for 10 TIMES foc once you apply for autopass..
After 10 times u go in u will be charged 10 dollar per entry to singapore. ERP still count on no matter u 1st or 2nd time drive in to singapore..

Access card is like express lane for you to go through singapore check point by paying 30dollars to apply for it..

i think u will get the same amount of pressure from here if any production machine down.
i dont think there is much different in term of working pressure between malaysia or singapore.

the VEP charges should be S$20/entry, not S$10. more info can be found in the website below smile.gif

PR is not allowed to drive Msian car into Spore. PR can only drive spore car in Spore.
As for the 10days FOC is applicable for all autopass holders
more info can be found in LTA website

altho ur fren is a UK degree holder, but her pay is only 1650, if i'm not wrong. the criteria to apply for a S pass is S$1.8k whereas EP is S$2.5k. anyway, ur fren can always clarify with the HR before signing the offer.. smile.gif

chrt is really quite an extreme case. i was there for close to 3yrs while i was doing my part time diploma. the package/benefit is quite gd, AWS, yr end bonus, qtrly bonus, OT, shift allowances, etc. but is really stressful working there. yup, especially when the machine is down, lots are jam, etc. ur machine cannot even idle for 1min, otherwise u'd be question by ur engr. i received 3 spot awards while i was there. 1 was due to a SPSR raised wrongly by an engr to send some backend wafers to a frontend machine. which mean, u have to be alert at all times

the working hrs for normal shift start at 8am, considered pretty early as compare to other coy who usually start at 9am. i always had a hard time getting up so early in the morning rclxub.gif

Ok, may I know wat is more worth to buy in Malaysia than in Singapore in terms of daily nessesities bcos I am going back to M'sia tomolo after I miss my homeland for about 6 mths.
AFAIK, 3in1, shampoo, computer hardwares, stationeries, snacks and rice are all worth to buy in M'sia after conversion. What else, I wanna make full use of my car. haha
