QUOTE(nicvoo @ May 16 2009, 11:10 PM) usually u need to go tru agent cos to rent out rooms u fora hdb flat u need a license to do tat else its illegal There is no such rule in HDB for the owner to sublet a room. This might be fake story create by agent.http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10206p.nsf/WP...ms?OpenDocument renting out the whole flat is different story. So it's quite often that the owner will rent out the whole flat but lock one room. So it's assumed that they will reside in the house when the gov come and check.. |

QUOTE(eric84cool @ May 17 2009, 01:58 PM) what's the point to rush ourself to become Singapore Citizenship??? True. Both Malaysia and Singapore only allow you to hold one citizenship ie. you have to give up your Malaysian citizenship. So unless you are running for Sg politics, want to become a senior civil servant or trying to avoid being extradited back to Malaysia - I don't see any need to become a Sg citizen. |

at least you don't need a visa to visit the States or Japan. In fact, I think a Sg passport could get you anywhere apart from India and China without a visa.

EMmm?!if there is a difference in subsidiary for HDB and hospital etc, then you might think whether want to live in this country for a very long period. if no difference, then I find it no point as we only have a chance to change citizenship in our life. if in later stage u find out AUSSIE country more better, you will not have a chance to do so anymore. |

As far as I can tell, the only real advantage citizens have over PRs in terms of subsidies, is the baby bonus which is for kids born to a citizen parent only. HDB housing grants are available to citizens and PRs too as long as they are married. Medical subsidies are slightly different between citizens and PRs, but if your pay is halfway decent, it's not going to be much to begin with anyway since they do means testing. Anyway, to me, travel visas are just too trivial and will not factor into my decision to change citizenship. Personally for me, I will only give up Malaysian citizenship if the racial and religious discrimination does not get better soon.
