Try to book 2 - 3 months in advance, then you can get return ticket at S$123.

Nowadays I also try to fly 3-4 months once, so much faster and I can still meet my friend in KL to yamcha at 11pm.

Worth it for those who goes back once a blue moon.

I agree, the mamak food here pretty stale, just the normal roti prata and dun have much of a varieties as compared to Murni or Steven's corner.

Apart from the food, everything else is pretty much better, ERP wise, can say it is a bit of a high side but hello? Msia also got soo many tolls leh... ERP got cut off time, Msia's toll runs on 7-11 schedule!

Added on March 16, 2009, 10:54 pmbtw, anyone know any nice mamak food in singapore? apart from the Prata House at Upper Thomson?

Midnight snacker here...

Having a car in Singapore is not a necessity but luxury, plus once in a blue moon, you can just hail a cab and save you the trouble of finding parking space.

Most of the time I rather take the MRT than cabs though I get reimbursement from my Company cause MRT is simply faster though sometimes it can get a little bit cramp but am not complaining.

Try that with KTM in the morning, HELL! Constant delays and the train packed to the brim! Total chaos!

I commuted between Johor-Sg daily by car and believe me, the motorcycle jammed is much worst than the car during the morning and evening rush hour.

Izit? At hometown i wash clothes everyday. Even if i am alone.

One thing is coz when i use coveralls its gets very sweaty and dirty since i may need to enter into a ship to do some inspection or goto refinery at jurong where its damn hot. Only my fire retarded coveralls i have to dry clean at a shop.

If i just wash my coveralls, i just put it at lowest water level since dont need alot of water.
*
everyday?? if you are my housemate i think i would scream at you for

1. occupying the washing machine everyday
2. occupying the clothes rack
3. wasting water

just wanna ask for opinions, I just applied PR mid march. Today I got a job offer with 200 dollars more of my current salary. Should I take up this job and forget about my PR or wait for my PR and then apply for other jobs again?
*
does it really matters? cause i just applied mine last week.

I am all in for a gathering! preferably a makan session so that if i cant talk, i can still eat biggrin.gif

I guess this what happens when come to singapore. Ppl change. Btw this was at hometown scenario. Not here. looks like the calculative skills kick in oledi.
*
You r now a tenant, wait until you become a landlord then you will understand. Plus, dun you get annoyed if another housemate of urs keep using the washing machine everyday?

I definately will, plus the drying area is so small for a HDB flat and you just have to be more reasonable with your usage so others can also utilise the washing machine & drying area.

Last year i stayed with this group of msian, initially i thought msian tend to be less calculative, oh boy i was soooo wrong.

first they demand me to pay extra S$5 per night if my sister comes for a visit, saying the amount was to cover for the additional PUB. Fine, I agree, so by right, the additional $5 that i pay should be minus off from the PUB bill before equally dividing it but then, they divide the amount before minusing the additional amount and justify to me, that money is to compensate them.

eg. Correct way
Bill $20
Extra $5
Net Bill = $15/3 = $5 per person
Total that i pay = $10

Their way
Bill $20/3= $ 6.7 per person
Extra $5
Total that i pay = $11.7

So they untung $1.7

Not that i mind, but until this extend?? Damn they were damn pretentious when i first view the place, saying 'oh msian easier to click and all the bullshit', then so many things happen within that 3 months.

1. Their dog shit all over the house once a while, one night i came back at 4am in the morning and stepped on the poo poo.

2. The dog also has some skin disease and keep bleeding, bloody stained on the floor and couch.

3. My bf and I were forced to clean the house though we hardly even use the living room, they keep reminding us, 'eh your turn to mop and clean the house this week' whereas it was their dog keep messing up the house.

4. They lied to us that the landlord grant them the permission to sub-let to us, but then one day the landlord came into the house (it was agreed earlier that she can come back to the house anytime she likes but we werent informed). I freaked out and almost wanted to chase her off. She was surprised too.

5. Within 2 months, the landlord asked the four of us to move out cause the main tenant wasnt genuine. I was more than happy to move out.

Moral of the story:
Singaporean, Msian, PRC are all the same.

Taking public transport especially MRT around Singapore is super convenient, do you know how much is a common room in singapore going at? I bet it will be >50% of your industrial training salary. In addition, short-term lease is usually more expensive.
