QUOTE(Grr @ Aug 20 2008, 11:22 AM) I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say here. A lot of tournaments use international rules? Cool. I didn't say otherwise. Uh, I want to point out that you highlighted CGS who play CS:S, not CoD4. The list is pretty, though. ^^ QUOTE CGS 'tests' CoD4 with the UK's largest ever prize The Championship Gaming Series will host a Call of Duty 4 tournament at the United Kingdom and European Combine event, the qualifier and draft event held at Europe's largest LAN centre in Birmingham, England. The CoD4 tournament will run alongside the official CGS event, where the four European franchises (London Mint, Birmingham Salvo, Stockholm Magnetik and Berlin Allianz) will be deciding who represents both the European and UK regions in the world finals held later this year. The event seems to be spear headed by Birmingham Salvo manager Michael "ODEE" Odell, the former Dignitas manager who was known to be a keen Call of Duty supporter (and player), and has taken it upon himself to attempt and lower the age restriction (18 year old) thought to be applied to the competition, though details remain sparse at this point. The event will take place over the weekend of 17-18th May and will be restricted to thirty two teams, where teams will be have to apply online. It's not known whether the CGS will employ a first come first serve policy or whether they're going to give preferential treatment to top European teams who've just over two weeks until the event starts. CGS.CoD4 - £10,000 1st £2,500 2nd £1,500 3rd £1,250 4th £1,150 5th £1,100 6th £1,000 7th £750 8th £750 The CGS event surpasses the prize money total set by Multiplay with their i33 tournament (€12,784 compared to Multiplay's €12,000) held at the end of March, subsequently won by Dignitas with the Meet Your Makers (former The Last Resort) side coming in second. The event spreads the prize winnings much more generously among the lower placing teams and combined with the age issues, may force the event into an all British affair. What I'm trying to say? Clearly stated there. We should stick with the international rule set for better Malaysia COD4. |

From the list you highlighted, it clearly states CSS in brackets. =/ I didn't know CGS would be having CoD4. Anyway, no use debating. If YOU feel that international rules clearly are better for the Malaysian CoD4 scene, then YOU should lobby for it more vigorously. We've had our say in the matter, and the organizers have changed the RnR to suit the majority. When the next tourney comes along, you're more than welcome to say what you need to say to the organizers. Fair? =)p.s. Dunno why got an extra post from me. =/ |

You're not getting what I'm saying. Okay, for the last time before I go and get work done: If you can convince the organizers to hold another poll where all team captains vote, then do it. They have already finalized the rules and they said they don't want to change it any more, though, so your chances of getting that is very low. It's not up to you and me. |

Honestly the prizes aren't worth the registration fees. 100 bucks for a team (COD 4) is way too much considering the prize money is just RM800.
(Blitzone's registration fees were just RM50 and the prize was way better) So, what is the aim of this SGC tournament anyway? Earn money? Or to actually promote sportsmanship? This post has been edited by r0fLkN1f3: Aug 20 2008, 12:45 PM |

Yes, but since the RnR is already finalized, what are you going to do about it? Are you going to whine about it or just play? Sometimes I understand the need for the BfNut slogan. XEF leaders/team captains, please rein it in. Thank you. =) |

wah ever fierce. I think i agree those who say it too late for anymore changes.
i will jus quote something nobie post way back QUOTE(affr0boy @ Aug 17 2008, 08:36 PM) I really dun mean to direct any of this @ anyone. I think what we should be focusing on is making the event sucessful and attract more event organise to see the community then there will be more competitions to come and from there changes can be done slowly step by step. But i still prefer the SnD to be in normal mode if is still possible. This post has been edited by EzPeaceZ: Aug 20 2008, 01:06 PM |

Aiyah change somemore? agreed with both ever and peace. It's kinda late to change, i will adapt to any rules.. both are fun to me.. be it snd or tdm or hq or domination. But i do have my personal opinion, maybe some other time we should try out other rules too.. coz diff rules give advantage to diff teams. Anyway, seem like people start voting.. i'll vote on behalf XEF Alpha.
I believe FFF will cry out loud without last stand.. hehe.. instead of adapting the same rules every tourney.. the same team will march into the finals.. it's kinda demotivate people to join tourneys. Well amateur league seem to be a good move.. As for WGT, i believe the organiser should use Snd mode for their tourney. They can choose either to call team captains or they can decided on their own which perks/weapon to be banned in the WGT. my 2 cents opinion.. dun flame me.. or i'll get mad.. when i'm mad.. i eat a lot.. noooooo p/s: Voted This post has been edited by Beast-Slayer: Aug 20 2008, 01:30 PM |
