Heng hee or Hoe Kee are the same chicken rice 1 located not far from Chung Wah & another one at Melaka Raya. Their chicken is good but the rice still cannot compare to Chung Wah.

However they have a big Axian outside the shop so ppl luv Axian..must be good-loh biggrin.gif

yeah u can go upstairs of Pure if u want a live band  smile.gif

IMO, the best Chicken rice ball in melaka is located in Melaka Raya. It is opposite a stationery shop and a Bank (forgot what bank). If im not mistaken its called Heng Kee...

I wouldnt suggest Formosa..the rice balls there are dry and hard.

Oh yea, I've already short cut a lot for that review. I'm going to write up in my blog soon with pictures.
Honestly, it was a really tiring trip, I've got myself sun burnt! Anyhow, worth for it tongue.gif
Ryan! When my next visit to Malacca then we go for the steamed bread together lo. Anyhow, I've managed to get the location of the steamed bread!

Big bens? No, he was not there when I went there. Sadly, not much of choice there too sad.gif
Fenix Inn is not bad.
*
Yea after they renovated the portugese settlement the place totally sucks..btw big ben is realllly big,hes a bit hard to miss..anyways best time to visit the portugese settlement is during christmas where every house is fully decorated with lights and the area is very festive. This yr even the San Pedro fest was a major disappointment.

Live band in pure is quite bad..best live bands would be at jonkers (Geographers and Ringo). Most of the clubs here have a certain racial theme:
Pure: mostly indians
arena: ah bengs
cube: arabs and africans

I just went on Monday, came back today. Remind me never to go anywhere during holiday season. Malacca would have been nice if not for the damn crowd.

B4 I forgotten, There is a new attraction in Malacca. Opened in May 2009. I stumbled on this FREE attraction last weekend while driving & avoiding the horrible jam surrounding the hiostory enclaved of Malacca..

I din know it's exist & even my parent & brothers don;t even know about it....presenting the Free musical fountain.....In KL (Mine Wonderland) & Singapore (Sentosa Island) you need to pay to see this fountain!! Here in malacca ..it's FREE..but open only after 7pm.

Location: Beside the destroyed old Melaka market at Jln Kee Ann off Jln Bunga Raya http://wikimapia.org/#lat=2.1996219&lon=10...=18&l=0&m=s&v=9

I want to comment something

Old rasa sayang restaurant?

Sorry to say, their food is so so only and their ordering system sucks.

Must be the same old system they used for the past damn decades.

We have bigger restaurants with more table sitting in Klang Valley but yet
our orders were never that late. It took 1 freaking hour just to get our food on the table.

I'm sorry but to the management of that restaurant, you rate 0 in 1 - 10.

Your service is the worst I've seen.

Not beside Digital Mal-lah, That dying digital mall is located at Jln Ong Kim Wee. The old destroyed Market is beside Plaza Inn Hotel/failed shopping mall. & opposite the ex-Cathay Cinema.

Those attractions are good for Ma;accan but also enriched certain top ppl brows.gif whistling.gif

melaka nowadays are jammed-packed with cars even on normal weekends. even me stayed home during weekends, except early morning for breakfast either at toast n toast or nasi lemak joints (tg keling or lereh). even the sotong kangkung near madam king got long queue lines doh.gif

would be great if any of us could start up v2 and summarize the main item on the first post to help other forummers smile.gif

hi, the light'n'sound exists around the 90s.. now the area is part of the dataran pahlawan complex, however, the stand is still there.. unfortunately there wont be anymore light'n'sound show not until 2012 if i'm not mistaken.. our local goverment are planning to revamp the show.. completion date not sure yet tho' smile.gif

if u wanna avoid congestion in malacca.. basically its impossible. haha... even the main road in front of my home area is packed with cars..(which a shortcut can lead to town, thanks to GPS, a lot ppl using that road nowadays).. my advise is. try avoiding peak hour.. hehe biggrin.gif.. if possible.. travel on foot as most of the attractions in malacca is concentrated together smile.gif

hope u enjoy ur stay here biggrin.gif

Ravenz,

I recommend Joan's (stall no 2) at the Portuguese Settlement, the devil curry and the portuguese baked fish was really good!

While for Baba Nyonya food you can check out Cottage Spices

Ah man thinking about the food there is making me hungry sad.gif
