QUOTE(stimix @ Jul 7 2009, 12:17 PM) Ehhhh..u sure this one famous kah? The real chicken rice balls doesn't come wth grilled chicken..Only Pak cham kai-leh...The famous one = Chung Wah (probably the best hainanese rice balls in Malaysia..ehh not the chicken-lah)...2nd is Hoe Kee..heard the owner graduated from Chung Wah & perfected the chicken but not the rice.. The lousiest of all Farmosa...Totally copycat & sumore using machine to make the ball....They once opened a branch in Cheras & Mahkota Parade but failed. LoL..just a picture of the chicken rice balls because some ppl dont understand the "balls" part..yes this is the crappy famosa one,the best ive tried is nearby jonkers as well, forgot the name On the Cendol...I think that one is Jonker88..Maritime Museum..Revisited this last week too after my 1st time ~CNY time...During that time..not really good, but on 2nd visit, yeah got the taste...The gual Melaka is perfecto. probably the best gula melaka on all cendol..but...the cendol & the santan (I suspect package santan)...is lousy... @putraskyline..din know u are in Melaka last wkk..me too balik kampung QUOTE(danielwan @ Jul 9 2009, 03:16 PM) reading all this post make me wanna go Malacca la this weekend!! Is it still terrible jammed now on weekend? Town area is always jammed, also the roads leading to klebang etc..mostly because of singaporeans and other tourists |

The river cruise signboards are everywhere mate, the local municipal recently cleaned up the rivers and its quite a nice sight at night. Capitol too overrated if you ask me, plus the crowd can be a major turn off.The queue will be all along the main road. I usually go to the one where you turn left at the shell atjln hang tuah. Never remembered the name of the shop tho. Also theres awsome pork satay in kota laksamana nearby jonkers area

QUOTE(stimix @ Aug 19 2009, 05:26 PM) Actually from Alor Gajah to Malacca is easier...the old road upgraded to dual lanes freeway liao...but still lotsa traffic lights..Out from Alor gajah Toll at the roundabout turn left & all the way straight to M'cca..~26km from Alor gajah. Otherwise, u wanted to use Ayer keroh, can also but paing xtra & big loop of xtra 14km to melaka compare to alor Gajah..sumore saving on toll sorry i have to disagree..if you take the alor gajah way and exit at simpang ampat toll will roughly save you rm3 but a lot of start stop at traffic lights u rather pay the rm3 and take the highway till ayer keroh.Cheapest alternative is Alor gajah-->seremban--> sepang--> exit at klia toll but takes at least 1hour longer. From Ayer keroh it's not really a straight road too... Travel after midnight theres a 10% discount. Added on August 19, 2009, 6:06 pm QUOTE(skysherly @ Aug 19 2009, 05:51 PM) hmm... if that's the case then I may consider Alor Gajah jor. Then should I drop the visit to zoo? Can skip newton..the zoo is nice but..personally i dont like to see caged animals.hehe if ure interested pls go ahead. River cruise at night is quite scenic but if you dont have the time can just take a walk along the paved stretch along the riverside.(Ive parked near the famosa chicken rice balls in town and walked till Mahkota parade along the river). Pork satay if im not mistaken closes by 4pm (the one near kota laksamana)What coffee shop is that with the steamed bread? This post has been edited by ryan_hustler: Aug 19 2009, 06:06 PM |

QUOTE(stimix @ Aug 19 2009, 06:10 PM) Lotsa traffic lights -yes..so depending-lah..but it's been ages I use Ayer keroh bck to m'cca...Fir even more kiasu which I did it numerous time, use: Hardcore man you! lol mine is subang to melaka Putrajaya>>Sepang F1>Lukut>port Dickson>>Kuala Linggi>Sg Baru>>Masjid Tanah & Tg Minyak-Ayer keroh h/way b4 entering M'cca..100% toll free from putrajaya.. highway is rm18.10 1h10m midnite is rm16.30 1h exit at simpang ampat rm 15.xx 1h30m ++ exit senawang rm9? 1h45m exit seremban rm8? 1h45m klia rm4 2h15m QUOTE(skysherly @ Aug 19 2009, 06:11 PM) Skip Newton? Newton is a lame foodcourt, something like mingtien in kelana but expensive and they ppl there are quite..rude and unhelpful. Zoo..very nice and green, pretty big and the animals look happy but personally not my thing. Pork satay im quite sure about the one in kota laksamana, the others in not sure. River cruise try to go at night, maybe around 8-10pm. Jonkers most stalls close by 11.30-12midnight.Park a bit far from jonkers area and walk there, less hassle and you wont get caught in the jam.Try the baba chendol or fried ice cream if you havnt b4.I can't remember what's the name of the coffee shop but I know it's located at the corner shop. They got the crispy bread too, but I prefer the steamed bread!!! also theres a fort called st.paul semabok,no tourists go there and the view from the hilltop is quite nice if you like some peace and quiet away from ppl and tourists. Find out for me where is the bread place youre mentioning.. |

QUOTE(skysherly @ Aug 19 2009, 10:38 PM) Aww!!! That's seriously sound nice!!! Where's at bukit beruang? Come on!!! Full address!!! I love char siew pau!!! Hmm nearby mmu university. Once ure in bkt beruang theres a petronas at the traffic light. Just turn towards it with petronas on your right go straight down the road and you can see steam comming from the corner shop on your left..have to confirm with capiche if the quality is really good for chinese standards, for me its quite good Oh yea, how can I forget the Malacca spinning tower is it? I heard not bad! Should try it out QUOTE(capiche @ Aug 19 2009, 10:49 PM) bkt beruang which 1 bro? lao di fang or the one deeper inside? hehe.. Ali Roast-em made a lot of under table money frm that project skysherly, cannot la.. i have test coming weekend.. for sure not going back.. hehe.. sori ya.. but i guide u via LYN.. haha... the spinning tower ar.... personally.. as a malaccan myself.. i think is better for tourists to visit all the historical places instead of those gimmicky attraction (esp the tower n big wheel) by our local government.. after all, malacca is famous with the enriched heritage and history whr Malaysia started... just like how our local gov allows the construction of Dataran Pahlawan... they shud know very well that piece of field is whr Tunku Abdul Rahman declare independence... yet they demolish it.. all previous generations (my dad n mom) felt is a waste as the field is an usual hangout for all malaccan during evening time whr rugby, soccer, hockey playing can be seen... hehe.. enough of my nagging.. prepare to get stuck in traffic jam anyway... PLS plan ur trip carefully ya |
