I went to Melaka last weekend.. stayed at Heeren House @ RM149. The place is quite nice, very near to the tourist attractions and eateries but still feel it was a bit expensive. Wanted to book Baba House initially but they don't accept M2U. Too bad then.

Zoo Melaka is very nice to visit.. price is quite cheap as well only RM7 per adult. It has the most tiger, elephant, giraffe and sun bears among the other local zoos I visited before : eg Taiping and Zoo Negara

but too bad 3 out of 4 red panda died already. the last one does not seemed gonna last any longer...

i used to take 1:10 Alor Gajah>Sg Besi.
Melaka is not far from KL, a lot of people commute to work to KL on daily basis.

stimix,

melaka nowadays are jammed-packed with cars even on normal weekends. even me stayed home during weekends, except early morning for breakfast either at toast n toast or nasi lemak joints (tg keling or lereh). even the sotong kangkung near madam king got long queue lines doh.gif

would be great if any of us could start up v2 and summarize the main item on the first post to help other forummers smile.gif

well, for buffet , seoul garden is good for just to hang out and can be really noisy when there is a lot of student around. food wise, so-so.
shibaraku is cheap but i'd rather eat the claypot chicken rice at Mahkota Parade foodcourt. thumbup.gif

for me , nyonya food, i still go for seafarers, authentic or not, i like the masak lemak nenas prawn and sambal petai prawn. not really into ayam pongteh or chapcai.

have anyone tried Amy Heritage Nyonya Cuisine - NST (ex equatorial chef)?
my feedback :
- pai tee is good
- kangkung is good
- masak lemak nenas prawn is OK but have told Amy that we'd like it a bit salty next time laugh.gif
- ambience is good
- service is quite fast.

not sure if anyone had recommend this before, but i just had my late lunch today at Ee Ji Ban (melaka raya) . as for halal chicken ball, this one definitely better than a famosa at TESCO.

sambal udang petai and prawn omelette was good while ikan cili garam was ok.

hm...for me, for my jenak 3 rasa and siakap stim i prefer at muara sungai duyung. went there today, and had both fish. for me it was good and i prefer the atmosphere and treat at muara sungai duyong compared to umbai/serkam/pernu/anjung batu etc etc. its fresh and nicely cooked.

anyway, for lunch, i'd recommend Akrab Seafood (3pm-12m/nite, fri-sun) Cheng. rm40 for 2, fish, tomyam, vege, fruitjuice, egg omelette. cheap and serving time is fast. siakap 3rasa was good too. nearer than going to those ikan bakar places.
