@stimix, no no.. is not the hee kiao mee near tengkera... the tengkera at malacca.. we call it "chou ti mian" means drawer mee... haha.. cause the tauke always keep the mee inside drawer.. they got put MSG on table 1.. u can put as much as u like... brows.gif the one u ate at newton, they got sell porridge and rice 1 right?

the only thing famous with the madam king popiah is the lard and mengkuang.. the best time to buy the popiah is when he is closing stall.. cause he'll give offer 1.. wrap a lot mengkuang and vege for u.. haha.. his brother selling at the new newton is even more expensive owh!

malim oso got some food shop not bad... prawn mee opposite the shell station.. and hakka lei cha rice, this one is slightly difficult to find.. hehe

Thanks Stimix!!!

Whoa, before 6pm not dinner jor wor, after 9pm will consider as supper leh. This is what I hate, sometimes want to eat nice food also difficult  sweat.gif

Stimix you have any idea what's the river cruise?  unsure.gif
*
river cruise is the tour of malacca river starts from pengkalan lama till the river mouth of malacca river.. biggrin.gif... well, the problem with malacca food is that, most of it was being overrated by tourists especially those at town area... there are plenty of better foods outside malacca town which does not falls into the GPS grid of anyone yet.. haha biggrin.gif

after all, food is an individual taste.. each has diff taste.. tongue.gif.. enjoy ur trip here at malacca.. biggrin.gif a warm welcome from malaccan...

hehe.. well.. everyone wanna have a slice of cake ma.. haha... both ong kim wee and capitol are old-timers in satay celup business.. just that capitol is slightly lucky (i would put it) to have such great location in the heart of the town... the 1 in ong kim wee (ban lee heong, the best.. others along the road all come after them 1) oso have lots of celebs went thr before.. haha... tongue.gif

stimix, u malaccan oso? nice to meet u.. smile.gif

skysherly, if u have time.. spend some time on the excavated half of the fort famosa... its a nice architecture though it was being blasted by dunno how many colonies d.. haha... it would be my pleasure to accompany u.. however, i seldom at malacca as i'm studying outstation.. haha biggrin.gif

hahaha the scenery is nice especially if full moon..but like i said if got a few guys go together no prob at all,but small group or girls go den better not be at night..My house is in bkt beruang nearby ayer keroh only..The dim sum is quite chun, especially the char siew pau..starts at 5am..also can get chun pork chop wantan mee and char kuey for bfast nearby tongue.gif
*
bkt beruang which 1 bro? lao di fang or the one deeper inside? hehe..

skysherly, cannot la.. i have test coming weekend.. for sure not going back.. hehe.. sori ya.. but i guide u via LYN.. haha... the spinning tower ar.... personally.. as a malaccan myself.. i think is better for tourists to visit all the historical places instead of those gimmicky attraction (esp the tower n big wheel) by our local government.. after all, malacca is famous with the enriched heritage and history whr Malaysia started...

just like how our local gov allows the construction of Dataran Pahlawan... they shud know very well that piece of field is whr Tunku Abdul Rahman declare independence... yet they demolish it.. all previous generations (my dad n mom) felt is a waste as the field is an usual hangout for all malaccan during evening time whr rugby, soccer, hockey playing can be seen...

hehe.. enough of my nagging.. prepare to get stuck in traffic jam anyway... PLS plan ur trip carefully ya icon_rolleyes.gif .. traffic here is getting worse and worse everyday.. sad.gif

Hmm nearby mmu university. Once ure in bkt beruang theres a petronas at the traffic light. Just turn towards it with petronas on your right go straight down the road and you can see steam comming from the corner shop on your left..have to confirm with capiche if the quality is really good for chinese standards, for me its quite good tongue.gif
Ali Roast-em made a lot of under table money frm that project  whistling.gif
*
hehe.. thn shud be that shop... the one at the corner lot 1.. their dimsum is far more better than the one at the back... tongue.gif.. thnks to our 'Lori Gostan' for wasting our tax revenue... sad.gif

QUOTE(skysherly @ Aug 20 2009, 10:13 AM)
I'm not going this coming weekend also mah sad.gif lolx. Well, I will definitely want to go around all the historical places. Because if I'm arriving at late afternoon, I will only have time for jonker street and for sure I can finish it within 1-2 hours, other time I will be free, that's why thought of giving it a try, then Sunday only start with my whole day walking in Malacca. I love Malacca because of the enriched heritage only tongue.gif

Oh yea, I heard about the Dataran Pahlawan. I was not sure about it, because I heard from some ah gong ah ma during my last visit (Basically I can just talk to people like that  sweat.gif  ) so I didn't really bother to go there.

No nagging la, it's nice to share the experience, opinion and feeling towards a place, at least good for me to know more about Malacca. I was once hope that I'm a Malaccan but unfortunately, I'm not.  cry.gif
Now traffic how bad o? Roughly what's the time start to be bad?  unsure.gif
The Assam shop? Selling assam laksa
Erm.... MMU there ya? Then maybe I ask some of my mmu friends. I thought you are a Chinese?
*
haha... jonker itself has a lot of places to see... it takes some time to cover the whole jonker street, heeren street, goldsmith street n blablabla.. haha... if u have time, can pay a visit to the mosque beside jonker street.. cant recall its name.. it is one of the oldest mosque in Malaysia... if u were there already.. drop by cheng hoon temple, just behind jonker street.. dont forgetting the Admiral Cheng Ho musuem on the Heeren Street..

hehe.. basically u can skip the shopping centre in Malacca la esp if u r KL-ppl.. malacca shopping centre is PEANUT.. haha.. got nothing to see 1... the last Dataran Pahlawn is really shite... but after opened a new GSC cinema now better.. last time many malaccan forecasted DP will be closed in no time.. including me!! haha...

er... normally if weekend... the jam would start just after working hour on friday.. cos a lot outstation ppl starts comin in... since u r using ayer keroh road right? i would recommend u to skip passing through the Ayer Keroh industrial area... use the other road via Bukit Katil and to Duyong.. this road can lead to town more faster.. but oso depends, cause thanks to GPS technology.. a lot singaporean (especially) using this road d... haha...

Jonker street if about those small small stalls actually can't really attract me, I will go for food, or something that I can hardly find in KL. Then I might spend more time there, or else I can finish it very fast. Just like my record, for 1utama from old wing to new wing I can finish in less than 2 hours tongue.gif lolx! Well, The mosque ya? I've been there once, may be will go again, on yea the cheong hoon temple, must go!!! Definitely the Cheng Ho museum is in my list, a must to go aswell tongue.gif

Oh gosh, even in KL also I try to skip shopping complex, so for sure in Malacca I will skip it as well. I don't like windows shopping unless I need to buy something. But I doubt I want to go there to do shopping, prefer to spend the money for food!!!! More and more PONTEH!!!!! New GSC? Takkan I go there watch movie right? I prefer to go Cineleisure to watch  tongue.gif  So Dataran Pahlawan also can skip tongue.gif

Aiyoyo, most likely I will be arriving on Saturday late afternoon, because I may drop by at Seremban for Hakka mee first!!! So I charm jor >"<!! Erm... Where's that what Bukit Katil? Damn, that's confusing already!!! Is it in GPS? If yes then should be alright as I will be bringing a GPS along... but hopefully I won't get lost. >"<
*
haha.. no la.. of course jonkers mini stall dun attract u.. i dun even bother to look at their goods when i'm there.. haha.. the main attraction of jonker street is those all buildings.. my grandpa has 1 on jonker street.. see whether u can spot it.. brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

haha.. the gsc is peanut compare to KL la.. haha... kacang tanah onlie.. if u wanna taste original Baba-Nyonya food (cendol, pongteh, mee siam n etc)... there's one behind Jonker Street (known as Kota Laksamana, mlc ppl call it KL.. hahahaha) .. well, contrary to popular belief, Jonker street has the best cendol in malacca.. this is one typical example of overrating by tourist... this shop on jonker (u will able to spot it once u on jonker street cos the business is blardy good, which i dun understand why), their gula melaka is not pure 1.. they mix with maltese glucose to make it sticky.. the PURE gula melaka is NOT STICKY.. rmb this point icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif

i'm not too sure whether is on GPS.. cos i dun have 1 and i not too familiar with the functionality.. haha... actually is quite easy.. let me dig old tech of google earth and show u ya.. not now la.. need time 1 le. hehe.. tongue.gif

I love Ponteh very much. I tried Donald and Lily before and I fall in love with it so badly. So I must wanna go there to eat again!!! Jonker street the cendol not really that nice, for me I don't fancy about it. Isn't fresh santan!!!! So, forget about it. lolx.

No problem, I still have time before I reach Malacca. I can imagine I'm going to put on a few kgs after the trip  sweat.gif
*
hehe.. er.. well... my grandpa business is quite unique (cos is the only one along jonker street.. haha)..

yup.. thats the shop name.. thanks to ur recall, i rmb the name d.. haha... ya... but a lot ppl says their ABC (jonker 1) not bad... is nice.. just that the gula melaka is a huge turn off.. ohmy.gif

hehe.. i plotting the map for u d.. just not so familiar with google earth... anyone can help? cos the route is quite long (on computer screen).. is it possible to highlight the road?

Donald and lily's ABC nice meh, I tried before, so  so only. In jonkker street there's another 1 even nicer, but I can remember there's one got Durian cendol which seriously turn me off. I won't want to go there thanks to the durian smell at all.

Thanks thanks for your help  notworthy.gif

*
hehe... unique in a sense that only one tye of shop like that on jonker street lor... normaly jonker is either craftmanship product or food lor.. or botique lor... or antique lor... but my grandpa 1 is none of the above.. brows.gif

no no.. the abc i mean is jonker street 1.. not donald and lilly.. donald and lily famous for their cendol, ponge.. biggrin.gif

haha.. the residential area chicken if me n u is on same frequency.. i think u mean Taman Melaka Baru.. my old home area.. haha.. their price is damn cheap 1.. and quality quite good too.. smile.gif the lala i think is at Bunga Raya.. beside Madam King 1... biggrin.gif

actually got some normal coffeeshop at malacca sell some quite delicious food... normal food but done decently 1.. biggrin.gif

Hi,

I'm heading down to Malacca tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be too crowded with people.
Is this Sound & Light Show exists?
*
hi, the light'n'sound exists around the 90s.. now the area is part of the dataran pahlawan complex, however, the stand is still there.. unfortunately there wont be anymore light'n'sound show not until 2012 if i'm not mistaken.. our local goverment are planning to revamp the show.. completion date not sure yet tho' smile.gif

if u wanna avoid congestion in malacca.. basically its impossible. haha... even the main road in front of my home area is packed with cars..(which a shortcut can lead to town, thanks to GPS, a lot ppl using that road nowadays).. my advise is. try avoiding peak hour.. hehe biggrin.gif.. if possible.. travel on foot as most of the attractions in malacca is concentrated together smile.gif

hope u enjoy ur stay here biggrin.gif
