My 2 cents worth of recommendation:

The most famous satay celup is Capitol Satay Celup, behind the Public Bank near Bunga Raya area.

Try also the teo chew food, very unique restaurant. A lot of VIPs were there. It is located at Jalan Tukang Besi, behind the famous Jonker Street.

Malaccan here. Capitol satay celup is the most famous but not the best. Used to be I would say. Anyhow, if you can't stand the line (usually have to queue up), can try the satay celup at Ong Kim Wee. They are okay too.

Chicken ball rice, I recommend the corner shop. Hainanese chicken ball rice.

Seafood at Portuguese Settlement, go for the first shop. It's call sea terrace.
If you can't stand the line, on the way to muar, there's a place call duyung. They have a Malay seafood stall that is good too. The sultans went there to dine the last time they were in Malacca for some meeting.

Other things you can find - Tan Kim Hock durian cendol, Nyonya food, si ham by the longkang,

Satay celup- try jalan ong kim wee. There are 2 shops side by side. Must go to the older looking shop.

Cendol-THe start of jonfer street opposite the Famosa chicken rice shop. Its a small stall with lots of antique inside. Coke cans in particular. Must try the durian cendol.

Chicken rice- Chung Wah chicken rice at the corner of jonker street. Also near to the cendol shop.

Wantoon/Char siew Meen- Jalan cheng lok.
