Carrier was one of the leading and best aircond manufacturer many years ago, nowadays I hardly see this brand in the market, I think they can't compete with Japan companies.

Questions!

This is my first time buying an air-con on my own. I have no knowledge about air-con at all.

1. What is HP means?

2. Is there only certain area the air-con unit can be installed? Like the portable air-con, since it has to have the hose behind it, it's always good to have it at window. How about the normal wall air-con?

Thanks! smile.gif

Daikin Inverter 1HP unit user here.. unit was installed in 2008 March. The compressor died last week. (5 years 2 months - just nice out of warranty)

Utter rubbish, I have 2 other Panasonic air cons in my house which are older than the Daikin, 1 is 8 years old and another is even older still going strong.

I am going for Panasonic to replace the Daikin Inverter. But wow Panasonic Inverter model not cheap.

Just bought a Daikin 1.5hp Inverter [R-22] to replace my aging Fuji Electric unit which can barely cope with the heat wave in Kedah right now.

RM1,650.00 including installation and removing old unit.

Hope its as quiet as they say.

i got 1 york cassette 3hp-28000btu @ my living, the operating amp=10.7 so no problem for normal a/c std 2.5mm2 wiring.
but take note that york 3hp come in 2 version, 28000btu=5 year warranty, 30000btu only 1 year warranty on compressor.

2 hp blower is already quite large and sufficient for my landed living room, so I think it should fit yours unless you stay in a big bungalow with loft ceiling. If you need higher hp, I suggest you mount another 1 hp or 2 hp at another location for more even distribution of cold air. Else it will be freezing cold at the 3 hp blower and warm at other dead corners.

Skng03...thanks for the reply. How long have you been using the 3hp unit? Your place is single phase or more?
