QUOTE(~Curious~ @ Apr 4 2013, 04:18 PM) I just whack the brand given the low price that comes with free 10 ft piping and installation. My house will be a holiday house so that air-con might be only switched on for a few nights once every few months. Slightly under $800 RM per unit for 1 hp, slightly under $1000 RM for 1.5 hp and slightly around $1400 RM for 2 hp. The LG is $70 RM more for 2hp, so I just took LG. Hope things turn out well. |

QUOTE(willius @ Apr 8 2013, 02:57 PM) Hey y'all Sounds good. I will give my feedback after installation in May.I have been doing a lot of research on aircon, but nowadays it's more or less the same la. EXCEPT Mitsubishi and Daikin, good start and running current and silent. Main thing about Aircon is to check on the start current and the running current. That's the main thing that affect the electric bill hehe. So far I checked, this 2 brands got the lowest in running current. And in term of silence, nothing can beat this two brand la. In term of fast cold, YORK cools down the fastest but, when u r on full mode, u will be annoyed by the sound, especially when it disturb your tv volume. Just installed a Daikin 2.5hp Rm2.6k with installation, a reference for all But someone mentioned up there and he's right, Daikin's design is really simple, creativity & innovative free in term of outlook !! And the Outdoor unit is like a BIG LORRY, one big piece of machine compare to Mistsubishi which is more creative and compact design. Why I buy Daikin then? Just try and see la, bekoz i know it's VERY COLD, tried that in my friend's house and i have already got a Mitsubishi and Panasonic. So far, never fails me, my living room can be felt is cold and i only need to put 24-26 degree C. The power of the aircon fan wind from the living room i can feel the wind blow strong on me in my dining room. My aircon is fixed in my living room facing my dining room. Hope this info helps ...... |

QUOTE(willius @ Apr 9 2013, 10:06 AM) Bro, I have an LG in my current house. It is pretty good, I seldom use it but it lasted 10 years already. When it comes to electronics, I guess luck plays a role too. If my air-con doesn't work, then I will just switch on my fan because I'm not an air-con person I am not trying to tarnish the image of any brand here but please choose anything but LG la, i have never heard good things about this brand BEFORE ! Nothing but quality problems in a lot of cases ........ cheap is their selling point, their design also quite awesome. But then again, good things never come cheap, cheap things never come good right ? Especially when u guys happily going for holiday in your holiday house and the aircon just break down, it's a BIG TURN OFF weh, hehe ......... Just my 2 cents. |

QUOTE(petlu28 @ Apr 14 2013, 10:32 PM) Thanks. Between normally I see mostly living aircond install at tv above. I have think before buy worry aircond will leaking after few year. Any advise? Yes, there is a chance of leaking. My current unit once leaked ice water and dropped small ice cubes. It is a branded unit some more but gave plenty of headache. That's why I decided to go for generic brand with salesperson recommendation. |

QUOTE(petlu28 @ Apr 15 2013, 10:00 AM) Hisense, from China. It is one of the biggest consumer brands for electrical items, but it is not very established in Malaysia. My only worry is the parts availability but it is very cheap ($800 RM with 10 feet piping and installation) so I just bought 5 units of 1 hp and 1 unit of 1.5 hp to try out. |

QUOTE(Oink @ May 2 2013, 06:48 PM) wanna ask: If includes piping, shd b okay. If not, the 2hp seems expensive. Assuming non inverter.my house air con electrical cables and water pipes are pre-installed by the housing developer. An air con installer quoted me YORK L series: a. 1HP @ RM 1,100.00 b. 1.5HP @ RM 1,400.00 c. 2.0HP @ RM 2,300.00 Is the pricing reasonable? |

QUOTE(skng03 @ May 16 2013, 11:53 PM) i got 1 york cassette 3hp-28000btu @ my living, the operating amp=10.7 so no problem for normal a/c std 2.5mm2 wiring. 2 hp blower is already quite large and sufficient for my landed living room, so I think it should fit yours unless you stay in a big bungalow with loft ceiling. If you need higher hp, I suggest you mount another 1 hp or 2 hp at another location for more even distribution of cold air. Else it will be freezing cold at the 3 hp blower and warm at other dead corners.but take note that york 3hp come in 2 version, 28000btu=5 year warranty, 30000btu only 1 year warranty on compressor. really |

QUOTE(skng03 @ May 18 2013, 02:27 AM) 3hp for my living hall just marginally enough, cover 728sqft, ceiling height min 11', max 12', all good with cassette type blowing to 4 direction I was told by the air con sellers that cassette type are high maintenance, else they will leak water easily. In addition, you need deeper false ceiling. I used wall mounted to maintain the height of my loft ceiling. |

QUOTE(skng03 @ May 20 2013, 09:04 PM) Cassette type need min 14" clearance to install, The air-con seller referred to servicing the air-con regularly via the man-hole as compared to wall-mounted type. Anyway I prefer simpler technology and mounting to reduce costs and maintenance.High maintenance: hmm: your a/c seller bluff u lar, i switch on my a/c by timer 4pm to 11pm everyday, never call a/c guy for any service, just clean d filter mesh diy @ no cost. As for the leaking part, problem mostly cause by workmanship, cassette type use pump to discharge condense water, if the pump faulty the a/c compressor will no kick in… |

QUOTE(felicia666 @ Aug 6 2013, 06:07 PM) My room (living and dining joined together) requires 2.5 HP. Installing new non-inverter air-con on only one location at living room. Should I install 1 HP + 1.5 HP next to next OR just a 2.5 HP? Space and piping not a concern. Separate is better. There will be more even distribution of cold air n one can be backup in case another one fails. |
