Interesting info on the 0.1 micron membrane filter by Mitsubishi Japan, I wonder if the Panasonic PJ-37MRF uses the same HF membrane.

RO membrane has lifespan... if lifespan is end or near end it will happen... also the quality of the membrane... made in US/Korea/Taiwan/Local or china

yup, contrary to most ppl belief RO product the cleanest water, thru the particle checker test, it is no where near cleanest.

There are many grade.. unless you use the Industrial grade used by country like singapore NEW WATER to process then yes it is really pure... (no one want to drink shit water)

used by our household is consumer grade... it is good but not the pure one...

I know there are different grades, but not many consumers are aware of that, and thought RO = cleanest.

Put under the particle checker, they got the shocking look on their face.


Singapore water refinery was done by hyflux.

I doubt it is cleanest also, have friends in singapore complained about it.

The only cleanest RO tech is used on the space shuttle, that really can transform shit and piss to pure water.

To my surprise just now, the Samsung Fridge that build in with Water Dispenser are using AquaPure Filter by 3M.

I wonder whether Aquaphor Cartridge can fit into 3M DWS 1000 Filter or not

When it is still new, yes, it will produce H2O.
Over the time, it won't, especially silica.

Haha they wont fit. Even if you have the new 3M DWS2500T wont be compatible with 3M DWS 1000, same brand but not compatible.

Aquaphor on the other hand has standardize cartridge design for Crystal Series and Morion. Previous old model Crystal Trio is using 0.8 micron but now they have come out with the new Crystal Eco with 0.1 micron Hollow Fibre Membrane, existing customers could upgrade their filter by changing the cartridge only. Isnt that GREAT !

Most brands will develop new models within 2 - 5 years but the cartridge design is different. Some even worse, they discontinue the old cartridge forcing you to change to a new system and spend more money. I believe most of you experience this before. So, this is another thing i like about Aquaphor, standardize cartridge design

Just a brief summary:
Despite the many brands in the market there are only a few types of filter
1) Hollow Fibre Membrane 0.01 micron (Eg : LecHome, Nesh, Rubine, Hydro1)
2) Sand Filter 5 - 10 microns (Waterco,Backgree, Perfect Steel)
3) Cloth type membrane 5 - 10 microns (Diamond, 3M)

I do sell all these 3 types of filters but only recommend and display no2 and no3 in my shop, no1 not recommended.

Water Quality
Well, Hollow Fibre Membrane filter with 0.01 micron has definitely the best filtration over the other types but as we discussed earlier on drinking filters like Amway 0.2 micron, 3M 0.2 micron and Aquaphor 0.1 micron, dont you think 0.01micron is just too clean for an outdoor filter? it is even better than the drinking filters Outdoor filters main purpose is to filter off sediments and to prolong the life of your indoor filters and tap fittings.

Imagine our drinking filter pressure is weak, how would 0.01 micron affect your incoming water pressure? It will definitely reduce 1bar of pressure or more.

Other things to consider such as durability, maintenance, maintenance cost and etc you can get the info in the other threads, google on them or drop by my showroom, kinda lengthy to retype everything here.

Generally speaking for landed properties with high water usage i would suggest getting Perfect Steel, i tried 3M AP902 close to 2 years and recently replace it with perfect steel. Why? I have upto 6 people at home with high water usage (10" Sorento Shower head and a strong Grundfos water pump), 3M AP902 capacity is just not enough for us, that is why we opt for Perfect Steel with backwash system.

For condos with limited space and could not backwash, get 3M AP902
