Becos the riva tuner itself does not support the card.OR the driver does not fully stabilize it.Check 1st page for guide to control fan speed.

I still can't decide what to do with this part. I dont have anythin in mind yet. I can go for xfire 4870 if i want but the heat it generate kinda worry me (pc are on all the time). I still duno whether I want to switch back to the red camp. 4870x2 sure look interesting tho. Maybe just wait n see how since i still dont have the money to do this upgrade.

x2 first reference unit will also be plauged by the heat issue...anyway its not that hot having 2 4870 if you do the fan profile for both of the card..

well the price difference between 4850x2 and 4870x2 will be around $100...
still the 4850x2 will cost quite a bomb when it gets in the local market... but theres another rumor saying it will onli cost $399...
summore it comes with GDDR3 not GDDR5...

4850X2 difference with 4870 X2 is $50 and $100
Becos AMD release 1GB and 2GB versiom
2GB = $ 549
1GB = $ 499

I guess 4850 X2 should be $400~450

Emm.. not to be confused but i understand that 4850x2 and 4850X2 CF is both different right? Whereby 4850x2 is a single card actually CFed without requiring a mobo with CF functionality?

I hope we can expect to see 4850x2 to be around RM800+. Ah but i don't think that's possible.

a single 4850X2 means 2 chips on 1 PCB... hence its a single card CF...
4850X2 CF means 2 card, 2 PCB, 4 chips and connected with CF connector...

Thanks for the confirmation smile.gif. I was wondering... the following which is better?

1 single card HD4850X2
2 cards Cross-Fired HD4850

So is a single card HD4850X2 better or 2 HD4850 card crossed-fired?

Thanks smile.gif

2gb is sort of overkill. 1gb still ok. Can a Coolermaster M700w psu support 4870x2 when the system have like 7-8 hdd? hmm I'll put the 4850x2 into consideration if they can push down the price. If it just usd100 bah forget it.

Archaven, the 4850X2 would be much better as the 965 doesn't have enough PCIe lanes to get nice performance from CF.

Oh, and BN (Barisan Nvidia) vs PKR (Pakatan Radeon)! laugh.gif

hahahaha.. never thought of that.. the BN and the PKR thingy... ekekeke...

for better performance, get urself a PCIe 2.0 mobo... will unleashed the 4850 full performance... ekekeke...

If not mistaken my mobo should be PCIe 2.0 just no CF or SLI functionality. Damn if need to change mobo again sweat.gif

I'm currently using PSU Enermax FMA-II 460W 32A dual 12v rails. Was wondering if it's enough for HD4850 or HD4850X2? Hopefully i don't have to change PSU soon sweat.gif

not sure whether anyone posted this or not.... seems like the non-references 4850 are storming into the market
