Reformat the OS.

Just reformat the OS... run the vantage.. not working..
The problem for this time even bad... just giving me a Black Screen...
Before that at least having the 1st test loading screen.

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Jul 22 2008, 10:23 PM)
I personally think that it got to do with the system info scanning while running Vantage. The problem could be lied in the ICH9R driver for the RAID setup. Try to remove the device from Device Manager, remove the driver completely and reboot until windows found an older driver & it works. Have you tried adding -nosysteminfo to the exe properties to see if Vantage will run in the first place? Have you tried completely uninstalling Vantage, removing all registry entries and then trying again with the latest complete version?
*
DO you means try to remove the 3DMark Vantage or the ICH9R?
If 3dmark.. yeah i tried.
Not really understand the "-nosysteminfo to the properties" means... but i will google it after this.

*I downloaded the 3dmark vantage, and already patch the hotfix version...

Last question..
So far what is the average 4850 CrossFire user 3dMark06 and 3dMark Vantage score?
I got only 14816 on 3dmark06.

Thank You.

added: I tried the -nosysteminfo. Not working. "CreatePixelShader Invalid"

If u hv ICH9R driver installed, remove/uninstall it from Device Manager. I guess there's a hardware conflict during system info scanning while running Vantage. Try to reinstall the ATI Catalyst driver AFTER installing Vantage. Btw, did u experience this error in Vantage alone or the same thing happened with 3DMark06 as well? If both of them also producing error could be ur card is faulty in the worst case. hmm.gif

Yep, actually these sillicons can tahan very high degree of temperature. Otherwise, NVIDIA and ATI all bankrupt already if these chips cannot take the heat with massive failure rates.

So no need waste money on extra cooler (and use extra space in an already cramp case that can barely fit the card already!). Even if 3 or 4 years down the road it failed, it's not worth anything already by that time...LOL. time to upgrade. smile.gif

Added on July 23, 2008, 9:22 amMore question on RBE:

i've just realized i've to download the BIOS file and load it...doh.gif doh.gif

So now i can see the info, but i get a message in the front page box saying "Warning: Power not connected...(or something like that)"...why is it saying that? I already connected the 6 pin PCIE to the card already, otherwise cannot use also...anyone can explain?

I am using Windows 2008 server. I have to uninstall it and go device driver manager to remove plus delete the driver. Later on, I got to use Driver Sweeper to clean the ati driver in safe mode. Quick tedius but works.

That is normal one, dont care it. Becos the bios is not loaded straight from the card. I think only NiBiTor can load straight from card. What u care is the clock speed since all the cards are reference card.

Emm why not? If DX11 has so huge an improvement over DX10 and supporting multi-cores processor, i guess it should boost the sales of Vista. I guess it's good for the giants since there's always on-going business for the GC manufacturers.
