I still wonder how's Windows SeVen(7) though tongue.gif
By the way, who's waiting RV 730 and RV710 for their old machine?
Microsoft said it will be released before the Windows SeVen(7) does.So Windows Vista does support it(You need a card to support it thou doh.gif)
By the way i think the hotfix is newest one.Becos i check the file name different from the 8.6 hotfix.I guess next time ba(I'll wait for 8.8 Driver instead).

Some update with the temp.

I tried to play The Witcher just now for like 2-3hrs of gameplay while monitoring the temp at the other monitor.

It never pass 70'c .. most of the time I check is 66'c using Gpu-z

My setting in The Witcher is 1920x1200 .. everything at max. I know The Witcher is not an intensive game.. like Crysis, this is purely only for references.

Anybody tried the new Catalyst 8.7 for the HD4000 series card? Any improvement as the driver release note claims? Any temperature change?

yup, directx is on vista, u can see it from the last paragraph:
As DirectX 10 runs only on Windows Vista, though, an operating system widely criticized for its stability problems and not particularly beloved by gamers, it remains to be seen whether DirectX 11 can increase the OS' penetration or whether Windows XP will remain the gaming operating system of choice.

It means that will directx 11 save vista and increase its OS' penetration among gamers.

Added on July 23, 2008, 1:54 pmBtw, it is coming early 2009.

Nah it won't be that early.

Read this:

http://www.winvistaclub.com/i7.html

It'll still be a long way to go.

Nothing wrong with VISTA, AFAIK, it's only when you run old apps that is not compatible then you'll have problem.

I really cannot understand why people is so bother about benchmark scores...reformatting PC 10 times just to do some test...when you can have so much fun playing games and enjoying the REAL WORLD PERFORMANCE gain and mooping about some numbers to boost your e-ego.

No offence. Just my 2 cents. tongue.gif
