Just like the credit card agent,they do receive some commission if u sign up thru them.

After reading this forum, I decided to go with my Maybank second card - Amex cc. Mainly due to it 2x TP ... and I had received the card few days ago.
I agree with TeraPox, Maybank is a snail. Despite I already have my Maybank Visa Gold, it took me almost 4 weeks to get my Maybank Amex cc. Huhh!!

Did they charge you for annual fee for your MBB Amex?

Nope... .. as far as I know. The staff told me it is free for first 2 years.

i applied my DA using the downloaded form then submit to CIMB branch with documents. Perhaps my DA type is an association card.

How many MBB cards you have? If your newly added MBB Amex is considered as your 3rd card, then it'll be free of annual fee. Otherwise, you have to pay for it. Track your online statement carefully.

This is what the bank staff and CS told me.

yeah, I'm not travelling that frequent already (read: reduced TP ), otherwise I will exchange for a medium size luggage. I already have a cabin and another very large hard-case trolley luggage bag already. Just missing the middle one.

For CC application, you can use photostat/printed (downloaded) CC application form. Then can fax it in also. Super-blur copy

Confirmed Petronas voucher can buy Syntium engine oil at Petronas station. I have tried it previously. But not sure on other kiosk goodies like Mamee, Cornetto ice cream, mineral water, etc.

Forgot to mention I also paid PDRM summons at MBB TP Fair, got 1x TP points only. Can PDRM pay by CC anywhere ? I think I got some DBKL summons too. JPJ, I think clear, otherwise cannot renew road tax

For those who follow this thread closely, recently I mention MBB rejected my permanent increase for CL. It was rejected Just now I saw they give me another 5k CL increase Cakap tak serupa bikin... Means total this year I got 10k CL increase

Of course the merchants would accept CC purchases - Y would they not?! In fact, I think they would only have accepted MBB CC's and no other CCs.

Yes I too been told by the CS about the 3rd CC being FREE - it is however NOT applicable to the Plat range I think; can U double confirm please?!

Er.. most of the time, it'll be waived - that joining fee apparently is compulsory by law or something.

One more thing, do i get the same benefit/promotion/free gift regardless anywhere i apply ...

I prefer walk in to branch rather than approach the dealer outside

Yes U will be able to get the same promotions being offered by the bank even if U applied it at the roadshows.

I'm quite confident U will be able to get that joining fee waived.

I'm not sure about Platinum card since I don't hold or apply any. Perhaps others could confirm for you.

i paid DBKL parking summon once and manage to reduce from RM100 to RM30. Feel sad lor, like paying income tax to govt heartache

Added on August 5, 2008, 1:01 amwah.. lau...eh... I've been trying to reach Maybank CS for almost 45 mins only can get hold of them. They told me after 11PM, there will be only 2 CS officers on duty for credit card related matters.

Have checked with the CS, my second card with Maybank (Amex cc) was free for 2 years.

My summon can only get 30% discount if i pay online as its a post summon, so reduction of RM90 from RM300 to RM210.

I paid at police station RM200, managed to get a bit cheaper.
