I went for the Treats Fair on Friday evening, overall a pretty decent experience. I had applied for Petronas Visa at PC Fair, not sure if Maybank will approve my 3rd Visa card from them. smile.gif

My colleague applied for the Petronas Visa, got the temp card after 1.6 hours. The free bag is worth the RM50 spent as long as you don't buy anything much more expensive than RM50. I exchanged 11.5k TP for a Braun shaver, quite worth it. Most items were quite reasonably priced, not really that much more expensive compared to normal store pricing.

CIMB DA, stated there that original form is required to apply. I need the PIN to get the E-PIN at ATM, in order to able to use CIMBClicks and see my cc statements. What a hassle.

Well, I did tick the portion in the application form.

After a week or two when I got my card, I called the CS why I didn't receive my ATM PIN since I wanted to view online statement. They said it takes to genereate the PIN and will send it to me soon.

@cute_boboi,
I'm a V new member with MBB CCs hence have not accumulated sufficient TPs.  In fact, I'm so new I haven't even received my 1st statement/bill from MBB tongue.gif

So the price off discounts/offers are really nothing much to shout about and can be easily obtained?
*
Yes, I would say you can get similiar discounts with cash/credit at shops outside for any products. Maybe they just throw in some cheap freebies like "onion bags", brolly, duck-beak-hat, etc. during the fair. My opinion of these CC fairs are for users to spend their TP. After all, it is not everyday you can convert the TP to RM/vouchers if you have something like e.g. bags/luggage choices from Samsonite, Delsey, Targus, etc. or any other stuff that you'll like.

Oh, they have a LASIK booth there as well and hair/scalp inspection. It's good if you always wanted to try it, but lazy to go for pre-inspection at their shops.

According to MBB, they estimate users to spend around 130 MILLION TP there blink.gif I don't even have 1% of it. sweat.gif Not even close.

How about using petronas cc to buy things other than petronas oil? Can we get points like 2x/5x? How much TP you need to redeem synthium engine oil?
*
Well, I don't buy stuff at petrol kiosk other than engine oil, which is confirmed 5x. I purchased it somewhere in Jun/Jul '08. OK, maybe I buy other stuff like mineral water, tin can nescafe and ice cream, but normally pay cash. So, other than Petronas products, I'm not sure. The stuff in kiosk are normally expensive. shakehead.gif

I did not check whether can redeem Syntium engine oil with TP. Anyone knows ?

@cute_boboi,
I guess I'm interested onli in the Samsonite counter; unfortunately it probably wouldn't make a diff to me cause no TPs - maybe I'll start collecting mine and use it at next year's TreatFair *grins*

@Underhill,
All CC applications will tell U they want the original form; I guess that's because they need the original signature *shrugs*

@David83,
Act if banks insist on wanting the original form, what about applications made through the internet?

CIMB DA doesn't have online application. I mailed in my application.

For MBB, I submit online application for MBB Visa Classic. Then I faxed in my supporting documents. If I remembered correctly, they didn't ask me to send in the original form. As for my MBB Petronas Visa, no online application is available and I have to mail in everything.

Not sure for other banks. I cannot remember HSBC one since it was 2 years ago!

Not just CIMB DA. I believe you have to do the same for any CIMB CC.
