Each bank points system is unique to a bank and it is not universal. If I were you, I'll apply for another card with another bank but since your card is less than one year old, you will have to use your payslip. (And you have just switched company) Probably your chances of being approved is lower now - wait a few months.

The more card from different bank, the more "diluted" your points you collect from each card.

Use the Mastercard DA card and you'll get that 2% discount on any petrol purchases.

A supplementary can have different statements but it cannot be a standalone card. Meaning, you cannot have an unrelated card.

If he uses your card to lend money, he will still have to pay for it. The bank will not charge you but your brother. All responsibilities of supplementary cards will be under the main card.

I beg to differ, just to set things straight, have anyone of you heard of ''joint and several liability'' whenever you sign up for a card? Theres no such thing as supp has got nothing to do with basic, and vice-versa, try running away with the card your mom or dad supp to you and see

Ask yourself what you intend to do with the card. Shopping @ Giant ? Pump up petrol 2 Shell ? Fly with AirAsia ? and the list goes on.
Then select the card which suits you best ... it is that simple cool2.gif Don't be greedy and tell youself you want everything out of a Citibank card - unfortunately Citibank segmentise their cards and you can't get it all.

yup i rarely shop at giant, petrol i dont wanna limit myself to shell (INCASE OF EMERGENCY) hence the cimb DA, or airasia.. lol.. tats why i am considering the clearcard.. but was wondering is it the true that the clearcard has got more discounts/redemption attributes?

To me the Citibank Clearcard was at its best several years back when it had discounted movie tickets, Maxis Promos and Coffee Bean Promo and it hasn't been the same ever since. Take a look at its discount catalog and see whether anything interest you or fits your lifestyle. I bet ya ... you'll probably enjoy like only one, two or just a few of the promos (depending on your lifestyle). Everyone / the sales person will say lots of promos but would you use it all and how often ?

I see Citibank cards best for paying bills but myself not having one at the moment and will stay clear of the card for the time being. (Long story)

Credit limit is determined by the bank mainly depending on your salary slip. As you use more of the card then the bank will perhaps upgrade your credit limit depending on your history with them. Credit limit varies individual to individual.

Lastime when I went to China, I was using my card to buy a jacket. During that time, I calculate the money I exchange with money changer and then when I received my bills, it was cheaper than what I had calculated in the first place. So I came to my own conclusion that VISA/MASTERCARD had access to better exchange rate than we did as their transaction was enormous.

Bad example.

Credit card is a tool. It wont burn you, nor it will destroy you.
Your life is determine by your action. Dont blame the credit card if you are in debts.
BLAME YOURSELF!!! instead of claiming other people trying to destroy your life with a stupid card.

I do agree that Credit Card is a good tool nowadays. But how many people know how to manage their cash flow?
Malaysian has more people file bankrupcy compare to last time and the age group is from age 20-28.
All because of they don't know how to control on the usage of credit card.
I am making a comment that don't greedy because of collecting points from credit card company provided you are good at your cash flow icon_idea.gif

Like I said, dont blame the card.
For some people, its the credit card. For some, its loan shark. For some, its personal loan. Money doesnt determine how you live your life, its you who determine your own life. If you cant do it, take it as a lesson.

These cases are not necessarily due to credit card abuse. I read somewhere that the cause of Malaysian backruptcy cases is not solely due to credit card. People abuse their credit card not because to earn points but it is because they are spending beyond their means to pay up. hmm.gif

I had a friend many years ago who got excited after getting his first credit card and went on a shopping spree, dates, trips ... name it. After about 3 months he nearly maxed out his CL of about 5K if I remember it correctly and he spent the next 2 years paying it all back. So ... is it the card company's fault or his fault ?
Don't blame the card ... blame the owner who uses the card without control.

Then any card from Citibank will do because you are just using it for the convenience. On another thought ... any credit card will do !
