Eh. Just give it everything it needs and for now give it privacy lor. Give it some food. That's about it I guess. It just needs to de-stress when you just brought it back.

urgh..enough la about the flaming and what not. She made an observation based on her experience and made a mistake by telling others about it. doesnt mean you all must attack her ramai. She apologized and explain already rite? End of story, forgive and forget. We all make mistakes sometimes.
you could try putting chicken wire so that its still ventilated but harder to chew chew due to the smaller gaps

Stainless Steel is safe. Only wire mesh from Galvanised metal is poisonous.

Actually, I saw aluminum mesh before, RM14 for 1 meter....
Wah, so organized. Heheheh.... the tables you bought from Ikea....  I got the smaller one.

For Neshie, is either she use aluminum mesh or she get another storage box and cut the hole higher and smaller but vertical instead of horizontal.
*
I think i should just get a 2ft tank.. biggrin.gif
thanks crazymouse! rclxm9.gif

QUOTE(IcedNyior @ Jul 6 2008, 12:40 AM)

The big brown bowls are toilet sand, the smaller glass bowls are dry food and smoothie. There is another bigger bowl for fresh veges but its not in the tank but on the shelf of the tables.

There are the white flower pots as their homes.

Water dishes are unhygenic. We got bottles on the side.

I got a Q here, how often do you guys change the water in the water bottle ?
On a daily basis ?

Since it's in a bottle, it won't get infected with bacteria or whatsoever so fast if compared to water dish right ?

Supposedly change daily but our syrians are drinking water due to the fresh and smoothies they are getting in their diet. There will be algae growing if left too long. Now looking for those baby bottle cleaner to wash but the opening too small to insert in.

Change when you see the water is almost finished.... it stays clean in the bottle, so not to worry.... Of course every water change, you should use a brush to scrub the bottle.

Go Pet Shack and get those brown bowls loh. That is enough..... but I realise not all syrians would use it for toilet..... My mink likes to take hay into the brown bowl, make a nest and sleep in it.....

Algae will grow if the bottle is not change for 1 week..... normally I change after 3 to 4 days.

Bottle brush.... you can actually spend some money to buy the Puppy/Kitten bottle set, comes with a brush.... but the milk bottle can donate to SPCA or lelong off hahahah. I bought the one for babies, but I use pliers to make the metal tip smaller so the brush can fit into the habitrail bottle. tongue.gif

It's big enough to fit my 2 biggest syrians, JackJack & Kiko. 1 syrian will fill about 3/4 of the bowl when they sleep in it. Our hamsters in Malaysia is not that big.

You can try Frisian non-clumping cat litter. Don't get the clumping or gel kind as it bad for their health in long term use.

Now we change their toilet sand every 3-4 days as they pee and poo in there...

Ah, use that brush loh. Lucky you.

Bath? Syrians memang no need sand bath but they need a toilet to pee and poo in. Some of my syrians are toilet train, and every pee and poo is inside their toilet bowl.

Not too small.... mine uses it well. You can find bigger ones lah.... just get bowls. Those hamster toilets are sometimes small for Syrians.... you can make your own toilet also. Buy 1 plastic container, cut a hole for the door and that's it.

I found that the previous cage i had was too small, so i went out and got a haitrail mini for my two little boys. Bought the whole cage for RM65, but when i got home i realized that the hamster wheel was missing =.= Lazy go back argue with the aunty and get the wheel (since i don't really like the hanging design also), so i'm looking around for a wheel that will fit hehe.

As for the cage, i find the idea of a mushroom waterhole abit weird =.= but my hamsters are willing to drink frm it so it will serve its purpose for awhile, until i find a new water bottle that fits. The hanging mushroom hideaway was kinda mind boggling for my hamsters, they had no idea how to use it, so i took that away and put in their old toy houses. Guess the only thing i'm planning to use is the food bowl lol

On the good side, the latch door on the front of the cage makes it very convenient for scooping the hamsters out of the cage plus the wired bars are abit high up so they can't chew on them. (but that does mean i have to find an alternative for them to climb, since they like to be spiderman so much) Plus the cage is convenient to clean.

I also bought prestige hamster nature for the two boys, but they seem to be addicted to kua chi and are ignoring the food =.= I still give them a few kua chi a day, but i'm planning to leave the bowl of food there and let them eat that only, so they can get used to it.

Thats all for my update hehe~

Don't have it with me now as it is in sangels' home.

You can find it in any pet shops that sells cat litter.
