QUOTE(RyoKenzaki @ Jun 27 2008, 02:14 AM) For the record... Mealies don't bite... They just squirm and struggle a lot. And she'll take it back out to eat when she wants to so don't worry. |

I just came back from Midvalley's Pet Wonderland. Their Chipsi classic has become RM 25 instead of the initial RM 21. Along with a string of other products.
Their syrians are priced at RM 35 although I don't see anything special plus many many injured hammies...There was one RC with a very bad eye infection. Still got this girl point at it and say "cutenya!" Damn speechless. BTW Roche's dipping habits have gone to a new level. She has created dry food dipped in smoothie and also mealworm dipped in smoothie in the past. Today she created doggie chew sticks in smoothie. |

QUOTE(jayniel @ Jun 27 2008, 09:25 PM) i saw the syrians too few weeks ago.. the syrians are even more expensive than the dwarfs, which is abnormal The funny part was, there's nothing special about the syrians. They all look like adults, big and basically old. Maybe they wanna mmake syrians come in trend again by selling more expensively?i also saw a gerbil with the tail 'missing' and a wound at that tail part.. guess some staff pulled it by the tail.. and it was still for sale.. tat's y i dislike mid valley pet shop.. they got so much money y dun wan send the staff for training? even my bf knows more bout hamsters than some of them do This post has been edited by Jamien: Jun 27 2008, 09:48 PM |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Jun 27 2008, 11:24 PM) Everything gone up in price. All due to petrol hike loh. Normal Normal colors and very unhealthy ones at that. Rm35.... hmmm.... all normal colours rite? Buy at Pet Family better. Your Roche must be hinting to you that she wants to become a chef LOL. My Roche "cook" something new again just now. I decided to try giving them one ball of supplement again instead of dunking it in their smoothie. Ferro largely ignored it. Roche carried the ball gently in her mouth, preserving the perfect ball shape, then dunk it in her smoothie. Like everything she dunks in the smoothie, it doesn't get eaten until after the dunking. jtl aka Joan is the lady boss. This post has been edited by Jamien: Jun 28 2008, 12:04 AM |

QUOTE(anderyna @ Jun 28 2008, 01:29 AM) when i am home around her, she will not throw the poo inside. if i am out, going for classes, when i come back, will see a few poos inside the smoothie bowl. So you didn't toilet train her? You can't be home all the time so you better try to toilet train her. They take very fast to toilet sand so it's no rpoblem. Plus cage a lot cleaner when toilet sand is present. @Iced: Hmmm... My syrians take Real Fresh just fine after Red Devil, although they do seem to favor Red Devil a lot. Next week I'm trying Mango Frappe~ |

QUOTE(nezumitaro @ Jun 28 2008, 10:33 AM) hey gals n boys, 1. Eh, I used to breed robos. Now no more keeping lo.i need some info. would like to know.... 1. how many of u breeding hamster? 2. during the mama pregnant, do u feed any supplement? or extra food? what u feed? 3. after the mama give birth, what u feed extra for her? 4. if u possible to feed the mama everyday? or just on alot food in for a week? 5. will ur hammi mama lost alot of weight? hair lose? 6. how is the hammi mama milk flow? thanks ppl! 2. When pregnant I will give hard boiled eggs, oat, and tofu whenever I can. And a bigger portion of fruits and vege and dry food. A pregnant mama must not go hungry or malnourished for proper baby development and so the mama won't be tempted to kill the babies for food or nutrients. 3. Same stuff as answer number 2. Portions of food is slowly increased from pregnancy till the baby is weaned. Sometimes will give her a bit of fish oil and boiled chicken. 4. I feed her daily. Fresh food has the best nutrients ma. 5. She will become slim after giving birth but will manage to regain back the weight at about a month or 2, depending on how many babies she have and how taxing it is for her to take care of them. But no hairloss. Hairloss indicates stress and lack of nutrient right? 6. Mama milk flow just fine. Manage to wean the babies lor. What's wrong? Is brownie Puff sick??? |

QUOTE(mikelim2020 @ Jun 28 2008, 10:37 AM) Speaking of dunking, I found bits of dry food in Ferro's leftover smoothie this morning. I think I was giving too much attention to Roche yesterday cuz she dunked the supplement ball into her smoothie. I was laughing and stroking her. Ferro jealous ar? He also go dunk. |

QUOTE(nezumitaro @ Jun 28 2008, 03:22 PM) lol Jamien silly Ferro notty notty huh hahhha.. I think the idea is wonderful! I had a sick pet who couldn't eat anyting but crush vegetable juice. It didn't manage to recover though... The injury was too serious. It took me hours to crush vege and forcefeed the fella. no i just for a hammi mama formular. which able to make like Nutri-Smoothie. which will promote their healthy n milk flow:) but before i make my move, i need to know how n what everyone here will feed. so i can work it to the style that easier for everyone. the other thing is.. i get bring back a weak gerbil. tot he canot make it, but pumping him with the nutrition formular.. he get well n gain weight. this make me think of.... will others ppl have problem when they need to syringe feed their sick animals? also thinking to pack the forumlar, so anyone when needed they can get home just mix with abit water, then can syringe feed. ah alot of things i wanna do.... |

QUOTE(tina_yess @ Jun 28 2008, 05:13 PM) DAM*!! !@#$%^&*&^%$#@! Tina relax. He did not run away. It is in their instincts to escape and explore. I used to keep my robos in a tank in my living room too. Yuu manage to run out also. Very weird. Ends up that he climb on the wheel, balance on the turning wheel, and grab the side of tha tank.. Then escaped. i just realized that 1 of my robo missing... but i dun know how can he escape.. because i use tank.... I couldn't find him on the day he ran off, so I thought gone case cuz my living room has 2 big doors open. But 3 days later, I found him wandering around under the table where I put the tank. I think he got hungry. There were 2 very large open doors and he didn't run out. For 3 days. So what you should do now, is put a small box with shavings and food at those dark narrow corners. Check every once in a while if your robo went in. They won't travel too far without food I think. My robos were smart enough to run only in my living room when they escaped. They know they have a steady supply of food in their tank. |

QUOTE(Criollo @ Jun 28 2008, 06:59 PM) Hie ~ I just got myself 2 new winter whites today (2 brothers, should be ok right? and they are quite young >.<) If you guys could share with me some things i would be very grateful. 1. I'm using the uhm, tube to drink water for them (stuck on one side of the cage) but they don't seem to be drinking from there. Anyway to teach them? >.< (I used a plate of water before and they tried to learn how to swim =.=) 2. Is it ok if i keep them with me in my aircon room (not 24 hours on la >.<, when i go to class i move them to my hall also) 3. Anyway to teach them to use bathing sand, i got this little poceline thing but they use it to sleep =.= I will really appreciate your feedback. I've had dogs for over a decade, but this is the first time i've had hamsters. Kinda nervous >.< PS: They are sooooo adorable >.< Try not to keep so cold lo. How cold is cold? I'm not sure about WW but robos adapt well to rooms moderately cold with air cond. But I advise you not to put them directly under the air cond flow. I think no need to teach them.. Just put the bathing sand inside. All my hammies are curious by nature and will jump inside by themselves. I just use a normal animal bowl and put the sand in. All my hammies will hop inside and investigate. Some will began rolling almost immediately. Plus they like enclose places... Mine sleeps in his toilet sand bowl sometimes also. Just make sure it's clean lo. |

QUOTE(UNDERGROUND @ Jun 28 2008, 07:19 PM) I got a question here, how to prevent hamster from mite infection ? Eh... I think this applies for all animals lar. Keep your hammie and you enclosure clean. For dwarves, give sand bath and toilet bath. For syrian, give toilet bath. Clean the toilet often. Wash all the accessories thoroughly. Then no problem lor. Don't expose your pets to other animals that are infested with mites lar. Very important. My friend told me his hamster is facing this problem and it is very irritating... |
