i would say nothing much of 3d effects (3d mode) compare to the normal screening.
except the scenes at night, where all the glows seems real.

This movie is boring, but enjoyed the CGI though.

Dont understand the plot ,why they create  AVATAR anyway but in the end they just crush the native and why they cannot teach/educate the avatar in human form????
*
if im not mistaken its cos they wanted to gain their trust so that they would move out of their home, and they use avatar instead of human form probably cos its easier to move around pandora in avatar form, and also it wopuld be easier to communicate with the na'vi if they looked like them.

it seems that you dont really pay attention to this movie. There's a part in the movie where its already answer your question. They create many Avatar just because they would like to get into the Na'vi family and become part of the family. When they become part of the family , they are call as brother and sister where they trust each other. The real reason for them to be part of the family so that the sky people could pursuade them to leave hometree and tell them an attack will happen if they do not move. This is because they are tie to a bond when they become a family.

Movie logic : Na'vi have superb understanding and learning and their goddess aided them as well.  whistling.gif

Even so, something like that is kinda predictable. Avatar isn't the best I've seen yet but I'd rather not have it turn like Transformers.

I would be frankly here..I actually enjoyed District 9 more than the Avatar but I won't deny that Avatar's visual is superb and beautiful.

coz u didn't watch properly.

Jake Sully was send to study and persuade the 'locals' about the mining. Later he finally find out the answer, the bad guy found his video log. The answer is impossible ... no way to persuade. If today there's an alien come to earth and ask politely can I destroy your planet, will you smile and say please proceed?

Jake found out mining in that place will only mean destroy that planet. How to persuade ppl to let their mother planet die?

Watched the movie again today (12.10pm show TGV, normal). Didn't even feel like it was 2 hours 45 minutes ! It was so much more faster...

The 3D is definitely much more sharper than the normal version, obviously. I feel the experience of 3D/non-3D is comparably the same, though 3D is definitely more worth it.

The difference is that 3D makes it more immersive. It's like you're not just watching a movie, you're entering a whole new world. If you watch 2D, you'll probably feel the movie's weaknesses more - predictable plot, draggy pace, cliches and stereotypes, etc.

If we talk about story, yup... I agree, it very predictable. Example when the story revealed about how the spirit tree can transfer human conscience into Na'vi body, I bet all audience can predict that at the end Jack will follow the same ritual. Another thing is about the Torak Ma.. (forgot the name).

But for it CGI, really... shocking.gif 10/10. Like Jack, I even don't know which one is real.

Draggy pace? Don't think so because I totally unaware about the the time.

plus in digital 3d, you won't get any visual tearing, lines and etc from the conventional 35mm film
