Can't describe my feeling exactly. It was very beautiful. Seeing all those thing poped up right in front of yer face.

QUOTE(qwerty79 @ Dec 23 2009, 10:44 PM) Just back from watching Avatar. @defaultname365, What is the diffrence betwwen #D and non other than the sharpness? Actually want to watch 3d but ticket sold out and I afraid will good headache after that. But if the difference is big, probably will try to watch it. Seriously though... my vision is obscured by the glasses' "rims"... e.g I see the movie, yes, but I also notice the rims of the glasses. To be honest, it is indeed more immersive, but I am trying my best not to notice the rims. I'd prefer this type (example): In the US I believe, it is like this.

Yeah, and the glass frame made my ears and nose kinda itchy. Had to hold the glass once in a while.
And please wipe your glasses before watching. A slight fingerprints could made you uncomfortable.

Oh the sequel, QUOTE Worthington has some pretty funny ideas about how to pick up the love story between his character Jake and his alien love interest Neytiri (Saldana).
"I've said to Jim, 'I want Jake to be fat and up in the new home tree, kicking it back, couple of kids coming around — typical family — telling Neytiri to go get me a beer,' " he laughed during a recent interview. "Neytiri then shoots me with an arrow!"

fuh i went in not expecting much
and the storyline was ok, nothing too great. few things that defied logic here and there. and the invashun lulz i bet the aussies will feel dam terasa.
but the CGI holy-crap. so damn beautiful. it's my 1st 3D movie too and it did not disappoint. 1st few minutes i was kinda in awe. the planet was just amazing too with the creatures and the landscape. i recommend it in 3D cos in 2D it just wont do justice to this movie.

QUOTE(n00b13 @ Dec 24 2009, 02:09 AM) I didn't notice any cuts. U sure? I thought the ahem-ahem scene has some cuts... This movie has the best CGI I've seen this year, but story wise it's very disappointing. Sure the directing is good and everything, but how did this kind of storyline get a Golden Globe nomination for Best Drama? Even the story in "Call Me Joe" (the book where James Cameron is accused of copying) is way better, especially the ending.

this avatar is damn good. its hard to criticize this movie because it has a strong moral theme i.e. zero to hero main character and loving the mother nature. besides, from the ending it opened a lot of channels for sequel i.e. the boss not yet die etc. not to mention the uber CGI.

The Navis didn't know that the avatar is controlled by a human at first, right? Where did they think these avatar come from then? I think it was mentioned that the 'sky people' (which means human) sent them? And how are they able to tell the avatar isn't one of them? By the way they dress?
I think I missed that part.

Human already been there a few years back before the story start. In the second research base (hanging mountain), did you notice Grace avatar in the photo with some na'vi children. That's the picture when Grace teach Na'vi english language.
Na'vi already know about the avatar a few years before Jack Sully come and there call them Dream walker.

QUOTE(MaggieMee @ Dec 24 2009, 09:44 PM) I don't think Finas have the tech to censor it...cuz it is digital. I don't mean to be sarcastic, they just snip the footage from time code.Even in 3D it's still a reel projection. If digital format as in data or IMAX 75mm film, without FINAS approval it still can't screen in cinema.
