Can we downgrade it back to 2.36?

updated from console..no prob so far heh

in-game XMB slightly lag after fw 2.40..eh, i was a bit worry already since even Sony has official revert back to fw 2.36..

What happen to those that already update with fw 2.40 (like me)? Waiting our PS3 to be blackout sooner or later??? Takut ni...

Sony cepat fix this problem to avoid chaos among the gamers lah..

I think those successfully update to 2.4 will not face problems...But Im sure a 2.41 will be release sometime soon to address the minor bugs.

wtf.. i just got mine to update and its bricked as well, exactly same as the youtube video posted 3 pages back.. matila

I noticed that majority of the people who got bricked from the 2.40(or any other past firmware release) update was updating through the PS3....

Could this have been the problem?

Currently no prob for me, updated through USB thumbdrive after downloading from my PC. Even played MGS4 for 2nd BBE run until 6am from 11:30PM last night.

I am also upgrade thru the thumbdrive, so this hopefully will save me from the bricking.

updated through pendrive since yesterday, dont know if i will face any problem yet... played with it for less than an hour since update

Hmmss.. i've had no problem too after the update. Was playing till pretty late(or early ).. well hopefully it's true that whoever managed to update successfully wont encounter any problem.
Let's hope for a patch to fix any further problems!

mine was actually updated from pendrive tho.. so yea, dont think that downloading with the PS3 was the prob..

I updated through the ps3 and so far so good but im kinda worried now and havent switch on my ps3 ever since i heard reports of problems with the firmware

tis is freaking frightening ... hope nth wil happen to my ps3 anytime until the next update from Soli, i mean Sony ...
last nite when updating tru thumbdrive, i was shaking .... guys wil anything happen later altho 2.4 works fine to me now?

Yup, I agree... The In-Game XMB is very slow...

hmm i;m holind to running my ps3 till got fix, yesterday after update ran afew rounds of msg4 online and some movies, later on , seems okay so far, but better not risk it...

Oh yeah.. so.. those of you who managed to install 2.4 without a hitch, you guys gonna revert back to 2.36 or?
There was a dude on that playstation forum who said he installed it fine, played on it for like 7 hours.Stopped.Then later on switched it on and popped in a cd to play, and the PS3 died.

i rather let it sit till got new firmware, gonna play my xbox and pc first.... scary sh*t~~

v2.40 has been removed, now back to v2.36

The problem is, how to downgrade to fw. 2.36? Aiyo don't scare me lah, looks like i don't dare to switch on my PS3 now while waiting any further notice from Sony...yesterday i also play as normal after upgrading fw. 2.40....

Since firmware v 2.40 not stable, i'm wonder if shop sell the unit with latest firmware can they get back previous firmware?
