Arg. I just tried to watch video from the DVD-RW drive itself for the first time after I bought this laptop. Sound cracks like mad. Same even if I made an image and run using Daemon Tool. sad.gif

Tried VLC media player, WMP both same. Both are 32-bit.

Then I tried x64 WMP, sound was smooth. WTF?? blink.gif blink.gif

Never had any problem playing audio from foobar 32-bit. Source was from hard disk though. hmm.gif

Any idea how to solve this?? doh.gif

you using vista or xp?
vista:
try go to C:\DELL\Drivers\R140135\ and continue the following folder, try to run a file named "inst.exe" to install driver. when asking to activate, just click cancel, it's will continue to complete installation. afterward, right click the BT icon at systray, turn on the bt adapter.

good luck.

I'm an avid photographer and also fool around with graphics design a lot. I recently just got my hands on m1530 and really felt the absence of color vibrance of the LCD. Thus , i went spending some time tweaking the LCD color in the Nvidia Control Panel. There is a significant difference after i changed the settings in the software. The color is not perfect, but is much better than the default settings.

You might also notice slight graphical artifacts when you move the Digital Vibrance slider too much. My friend on M1330 has tried the same settings and it worked well for her too.

To make your LCD color look nicer

Right click on your desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel. Move the sliders to the following positions.

My settings :

Red and Green:
Brightness:40
Digital Vibrance:11
Contrast:60
Image Sharpening:None
Gamma:42

Blue:
Brightness:27
Digital Vibrance:11
Contrast:60
Image Sharpening:None
Gamma:31

Please take note that i'm using the 1680x1050 max reso panel. The color might differ if you're using the default one

WOW..

I feel the colors now are more "in"..
More of a kind of a classic color style..
Like the color paintings usually found in literature books...
Slightly darker then the default but obviosly this setting portrays out the inner voice of the colors..
Colors make a difference..
The feeling is never the same when using Dell M1330 again..
Everyone, do try this setting or make urs..
A new setting are hell alot better..

Dell officially explains the faulty NVIDIAs >> http://direct2dell.com/one2one/archive/200...top-owners.aspx, which includes M1330.

Solution? A12 BIOS, which makes the fan go full blown most of the time. Noisier, kills the fan faster, and drains more battery... while pushing it out of the warranty time frame. Suggest extending warranty or "sabo" yr M1330 when it's gonna end for one last replacement doh.gif .

Take note, it's NVIDIA's fault. mad.gif

hoho..waiting for this.

i hope dell will come out with a long term solution as i can see changing fan behavior is not a long term solution for GPU overheat problem. perhaps, do a recall program to change the motherboard with the right GPU.

Since i've modded with copper sheet liao, i'm going to flash back to A11 cos i notice on A12, my fan turn on all the time... ;( I don't like the noisy fan when i'm on battery mode... when using A11, the fan didn't even kick in...

A note to all, A12 really helps to reduce the temp by ~4 degree, however i don't think this is going to help on the issue either... it's not the base temp tat affect the GPU, try run 3D mark and see wat's ur max temp... b4 the mod, my GPU temp can go as high as 104 degree then i quickly terminate the demo... it's the heat transfer efficiency of the thermal pad. Dell (or nVidia) really doing not enuff on this... more and more ppl will have bricked laptop after the warranty period and nothing they can do after warranty expired. I think Dell might face lawsuit in very near future. If u notice the press statement by Dell, they only cover those unit under warranty period... bad Dell.... sad.gif

this is not a solution but they said is prevention or prolong your system.

dell confirm definitely will not do a recall at this moment. no long term solution, dell will only solve the issue case by case basic.

lor..like that maybe we should make petition to dell asking to repair the GPU. im afraid after waranty period is over, my xps will be useless. by that time, repairing cost is not an option. considering a new one is much better.
