Why tri-boot when you can now use VM?

I wanna use native install to get best performance mah... in the process i learn a lot as well, especially to work around to get OSX working with all hardware... though many many reinstall took place...

Anyway, i starting to like uBuntu and OSX... both OS feel very "punchy" lar... like got a lot of housepower... Now i know y once ppl migrate to apple, then there's no return...

The Dell technician came to my college to change the mobo for me yesterday.
Well... Perhaps after 6 months my laptop gonna be funtioning without graphic card..
so the prob is .. Do guys suggest me to change another laptop ? cox i dun hv warranty after August 14th..

Also, is the dell 1 year warranty is of complete type ? whihc mena if i hv some sctches at the back.. can i ask for a replace ment.. ( the back side of m1330 is a sheet of painted black ink on its metal surface.. I urge every not to scratch on the surface cox it is easily tornable )

btw.. I'm supprised that Dell has not find out that the NVIDIA GS8400 is causing the prob for the laptop... and they are selling happily in their website.. Don't they noe that a single mobo for m1330 cost >RM1500 ..

Or.. hmm. do you think this is DELL strategy in doing this "unethical" business ? hmmm

scratch, cosmetic/visual damage not covered in warranty.

can i downgrade my mobo...
since 8400 is defected
will they ever find out the solution for this

Well, I have tried ubuntu on VirtualBox from Sun. The performance is actually pretty good (very near to native I would say).

i mean at least intel accelerater,
much more stable..althought no kick

so ATI GC is more cooler than Nvidia 8400? hope can see more review on studio laptop

nvidia wil not admit their fault and only pointer to OEM.
how to downgrade? buy second hand mobo and change the mobo yourself ?

the latest Bios upgrade really does the trick now my temperature at an average has gone down by 5 degrees Centigrade.

my lappy is acting up again. the screen will have some crazy lines on it and then the pc will reboot itself (again!!!)...arrghhh! guess it's time to call Dell again.

btw, how do i upgrade the bios? i'm using A11 currently, and i have downloaded the A12 given above...but can someone tell me how do i flash it? just run the .exe is it?

3rd service coming on Tuesday. They're coming to replace my mobo for the 3rd time, but it's not the graphics problem.

Mentioned before that my laptop will automatically restart after shut down/hibernate.

Anyway.. u dun hv or they dun cover for ya, you may also call DELL, talk to the service operator and realating ur issues. They probably will charge you and when the aggrement is made, they will send ya a techniqian to fix it for you... If you have warranty left and they 1 2 charge you for delivery, you just tell the operator some part of ur internal lappy is broken and need for replacement and in addition you just by the way ask for the physical part you want to fix... LOL..

IF not thru Dell... I've got no idea.. I heard this comin PC fair in KLCC has a DELL booth.. @@ ... you may check there..

tq djlah. called them already last nite at 3am. the guy on the line sounder very sleepy, heheh. anyway, he instructed me to uninstall the nvidia display driver as a temporary fix until the techie come to replace my mobo. so now my lappy's screen is in VGA no problems at all currently, so I strongly suspect the graphics card is the culprit.

but so far, the techie hasn't called yet. hmmm...
