hi guys...

as a new user of xps...i would like to ask...how important the drive D: RECOVERY ? i'm thinking of using that 10gig of space for other things (dual/triple boot maybe) but afraid of loosing something useful in that D drive. i;m currently downlodng trial version of acronis, planning to create image of that D drive. can i restore back the initial state of D drive with acronis? hehe...first time to try it.

hope to get some feedback... blush.gif

oh for sure kazasho...  icon_rolleyes.gif
i will try later today.

by the way guys,
i can see my HD partitioned into two C (OS) and D (system backup).
My HDD capacity is 250GB.
As we know 1kb=1024 bytes, thus 250GB is actually about 244GB in actual , rite?
but I can only see my total capacity is 230GB.
Anybody can explain?  icon_question.gif

i think the other extra goes to dell utilities/ diagnosis tool to examine ur pc as and when required.

btw, i just screwed my D partiton, my media direct only load inside windows sad.gif

try to use PCRestore (pressing F8) but failed as i already screwed the mbr...huhu

end up reformating the whole thing. now almost finish. yawn.gif

sorry chipun
what is "mbr"?
*
Master Boot Record. Try this to know more about MBR.

as far as i believe, if change ur partition size, u already break ur mbr and then ur media direct wont load expressly i.e pressing media direct button will load windows instead of media direct express. then media direct will load after windows load...u loose the point of having media direct

so..think b4 u resizing ur partitionor play around with it...huhu..lesson learnt. i already lost the PCRestore etc

Sunshine,

They won't entertain. I also got 1 dead pixel but they call it as industrial standard to have less than 5 dead pixel unless u have >5 dead pixel i.e 6 dead pixel or 2 joint dead pixel then they can replace it.

i email them and the above is their answer.

why don't u give them an email first. see what their respond. usually they reply within 1 business day.

last time i email them regarding my dead pixel and they respond that they will replace if only i got more than 5 dead pixel or 2-joint dead pixel. less than 5 dead pixel is industrial standard they said.

if they respond with some crap bla bla....then u make a call to counter the crap drool.gif
