i think the average temp for the GPU is 70deg. is it ok to let it be like that? is it normal to have that level of temp on a GPU? i love to leave my computer switch on 24hrs. but now maybe should change my style.
or i might end up like those who replace mobo every 6 month... |

I'm using version 156.69 (from Windows Update) for my Vista x64. Average idle around 50-55C depending on the room temperature.
Yesterday tried monitor with HWMonitor in the background while I playing C&C, so far max hits around 85C only. BIOS version A11 & Video BIOS version 60.86.45.00.40 (I doubt you can update the BIOS for 8400M GS, I just show for comparison) This post has been edited by da3shou3: Jul 7 2008, 08:26 PM |

HI everyone...
talking about XPSM1330.. I think I'm one of the earliests in Malaysia to own it.. I ordered mine last June 2007 and was delivered to me after 2 months.. (-.-").. I was complaining on the ****king late arival cox they said they had problems with importing the internal organs on my m1330.. Anyway I got a free Dell810 printer for free =p... ....Initially I thought it was a wonderful laptop to own but merely after 5 months the colorful vertical lines started emerging.. Well the Dell enginer ( Mr. Goh.. does tat ring a bell ? ) said I was the 1st one to come across this problem... These were wat he did to my laptop : 1) He removed my screen and the problem still exists..yea the lines were still showing ! 2) Next he exchanged my mother board and ah ! the problem solve ! Perhaps he was rushing or lazy.. he didn't replace back my old screen and gave me the new one.. he said that if I don't the warranty, all the parts will cost me >RM3000... ( Screen = >rm1500 and MOBO = >RM1500 ) Lately.. after 6 months.. here comes the exact same problem again ! Hence, I searched the net to find out what happen only to know the inevitable truth that for those who own DELL XPS1330 with NVIDIA 8400, they will definitely come across this problem ! And according to my research, it is 100% due to the graphic card problem.. So my advice is : If you happen to see some weird colorful glitches, the lines are probably along the way for appearance.. you have to act smart now !...if you are rushing to do assignment with your laptop, I urge you to faster disable your NVIDIA graphic cards so that everything can work fine.. this is becox if you continue allowing this to get worsened, there is a huge probaboloty that no matters how many attempts of trying to restart your PC.. you can only hear the sound with no hope of seeing back your normal screen again...Yes.. good thing is that you have your warranty, you can call the stupid company and ask his men to fix this problem by replacing mobo, what happen then if yours is expiring soon ? For my case, because now is my revison week in college life and I cannot afford to not use my laptop to study so I disable my graphic cards.. Not only that I cannot play DoTa, even watching porno is also a problem !.. Windows Media players and most of the video players cannot play the movies in good condition ! the movies will stuck here and there... here and there for a while..Just imagine how hard my life now ! Infront of me lays a gaming laptop but perform a funtion of a crappy laptop cox of its what the "toot" VGA card.. haix ! Hey ! I still have my warranty left.. it's only less than 2 months and definitely I will call that Mr.Goh back to service my baby.. Later that I plan to kiss my baby goodbye for some good brands.. Sorry for those who are in love with this M1330, the truth has not bring light to you, you are loving falsely or blindly i would say, you have not witnessed the dark side of this company.. Search for the extentional warranty especially for the XPS models then you shall understand what I meant.. I'm really sorry for those who bought the m1330 espicially for those who bought it without purchasing the 3 years warranty...Congratulation, your time will be near to stand in my position, thinking how stupid we are buying 4k+ baby which will die in an estimated period of 6 months.. If I have offended anyone here I'm sorry because I just have to say something as I'm the earliest one to encounter this problem.. AH ! for goodness sake pls don't insert me into the proud owners list of this fan club... I'm not quite satisfy with this DELL XPS M1330, though. 6months? Mine took only 3 months before it decided to die. Luckily that was after all the crazy assignments load and exam.
Updated to A11 bios, lets see how well it'll perform. 0137807102 and David900924 Make a complain... get a replacement if you're experiencing problems now. To disable, Go to Control Panel > system > device manager, under the display adapters, disable it. This post has been edited by pmmonkey: Jul 9 2008, 11:05 AM |
