GPU temp is high

OMG, your GPU temp is extremely high. is the fan running?
you better try to update the latest A11 BIOS. see if there any temp different.
my M1530 8600M GT GDDR3 only reach max 75 C when play games.
idle is around 55-60 C.

i also updated to latest video driver from dell website.

These are mine after booting and running for a while. It always hovers around 70 or 69 during normal operation. Minimum is 65 or 66, idling. When gaming can be 80+ till 100+.

Why so hot? Coz the thermal pad used for contact with the GPU isn't that efficient. These guys did a little modding by replacing the thermal pad with copper or aluminum sheets, and it dropped to 50+.

i just got my xps m1330 yesterday. with latest bios a11 and nvidia 167.45 driver. when idiling, it hovers around 48-56c depending on the room temperature. maximum with full speed fan it reaches 75-78c(i8kfangui to control when to kick in the fan). before i update the gpu driver, it idles at 65-68c

wa..urs cooler than me. mine is 76deg in normal operation.....what should i do? with this level of temp, i dont think it can last long...

Mine is in the attachment, all temperatures recorded when it is idle.

Which version of driver you're using?
(You're running x64 vista right?)

I'm on Vista 32 bit. My Nvidia driver version is 156.69 which is also the one that came with it. I tried other drivers and have no luck, the temperature will be at 70C on idle, only this driver gives me about 56C on idle.

oh guys, my idle is around 64-68.. watch movie reach 73-75... no yet try play high graphic games.
what driver version shall I used to decrease the temp.

the latest driver at dell website is v175.97 and im using it right now. the one that came in the CD is v101.43.

i tried using the driver in the CD, left my laptop idle. the max GPU temp reach 104deg

will tell dell about this.

anyone ordered the 200gb 7200rpm hdd? do they have other brand than seagate. i want a replacement if they have others. got some tick tick sound.

what does the ACPI temperature represents? mine showed 25 degrees only.. sounds abnormal.. the other readings are pretty much the same as those posted..

i think ACPI temp refer to motherboard temp...

yeah i still dont get it why dell still uses seagate hdd despite many people complain about the tick tick sound. they have other brand i guess, I am not too sure because urs is 200 GB 7200 rpm.

well i got the seagate as well with the stupid tick tick sound. but mine was 160 GB 5400 rpm. well for my hdd specs , they have hitachi and fujitsu which makes no sound at all.

i think for ur spec they have western digital. well try to get a japanese brand than an american one cause its better in my opinion.

oh yeah by the way, if they replace u with another seagate one.. tell them u dont want it. But the dell xps support will tell u , they cant choose what hdd goes into the technician hands when it comes to ur place. So if u see the technician has a seagate refurbish hdd tell them, u are not keen on the brand and sent them home.

Because, I have seen brand new seagate hdd with tick tick sound . opt for other hdd besides seagate. But during my time, the seagate hdd tick tick sound only affect hdd with my hdd specs.

how to check the HD is wat brand? mind show SG at the end of the name...so I guess mine is seagate as well.. mine is 200gb 7200rpm..not much tick tick sound..

damnit, any1 insert disc b4? the sound of insert is so creepy scary...make me hate to use disc.. is tat normal or only me hav this creepy sound when insert disc?

anyone experiencing problem with their graphic card?
mine screen always turn blur n pop up said problem with nvd driver

is it bacause software prob?
