i dont know if u know can...i believe its a no..

haha thread lock suddenly... n20nine... haha my issue is still pending though... u cant imagine the hassle i went thru... its crazy...

and to pm monkey...

well, mostly parts are refurbish. and the pain and misery of repairing the laptop and then opening up again. If it happen for the second time again, I ll suggest you to get a replacement unit from dell. or get a refund if u want too.

haha all my post here lately kinda hate dell lately. Their fault of losing a customer. I think if I have the money, I would opt for better one with quality and reliability like after 4 months it wont spoilt.

hi all
just got my xps few days back.
realized that when i close the screen, until about 2inches++ to fully close, it will drop juz like that. means it can't hold the position....something is loose!!
aarghhh should i call dell?
*
well naturally thats normal and the hinge will be quite loose. but if u were to replace it.. they will have to detach the screen from the body. or.. u could just claim for a replacement under the dell 14 days satisfaction period.

but i think replacement, are generally less quality then the 1st purchased one..

hey guys, my lappy only have x3100 integrated graphics, i saw a video on youtube showing a guy playing cs source quite smoothly with just x3100 but when i load css on mine, the gameplay is quite sluggish. thoughts? any tweaks?
*
well depends on what counter strike version ur using. this intel x3100 cant even play far cry. it load far cry with ease when playing it doesnt hang for far cry but it cant produce the graphic in there..

no shadow or some sort of rendering... this x3100 also lags with the need for speed pro street...

u ll need a geforce card if u really wanna play games..

hello every1
i've just got mine this afternoon
there are some scratches over my xps
first the screen, then the lower part of battery
and the speakerk, looks like 'bursting out', rough!

then i made complaint to the sales, even attached some live pics
they promised to replace a new set next week
within this waiting period i can use this laptop as i like
they don care even i break any part of the xps but just need to return the full set to them

do u think that the replacement set can be a refurbished 1?
i'm so worry bout the replacement set...
but they promised tat they'll replace until i satisfy
they'll place a new order, mean the replacement set includes everything

i'm still wondering what they're gong to do wif the xps i'm using now...
are they going to refurbish and sell as a new set to other???

any have this experience b4 come share wif me
*
the replacement will not be a refurbish one. they claim its new but we will never know dont we?. and there is no certainty that the replacement will be in good shape but mostly likely it will be in a good shape. most definite dont worry about it.

The lappy that u gonna have now, they gonna take it back and i dont know what are they gonna do with it really. they wont promise they replace until ur satisfy, I assure u that!!! if u wanna get another replacement after this one.. it might be a lil hard though...

as soon as u get the second replacement and u dont like it, they ll have to call and engineer on site to verify of what that u dont like about it. if u ever manage to get a 3rd replacement and still dont like it, it ll be hard to get another replacement...

well, i dont think u dont have to worry about it.. just keep using ur laptop. the replacement will be there like in a week.

i think is normal...my aunt one also like that
but my aunt don't know y got sound from bottom...chi chi like something processing. is it processor sound? another sound is harddisk sound...i think is normal. but the sound chi chi chi for so long although i did not open anything or do any processing...
*
i think what u meant is the whinning sound of the intel core 2 duo. I thin this only happen for dell xps laptops. I didnt see this with the HP pavilio notebooks...

its normal at night if u here an *eee...eeee...eee* sound.. even most of the xps that come into my hands have such thing..

yes, i just read the previous post....something eee...eee...eee
so i ask my aunt to return it to dell or got any solution? i scare mine one also like that...coming on monday
*
well if u return it, they will change for u a refurbish motherboard and the issue might not be solved as well. XPS produced on 21st Feb 2008 also suffer from the whinning sound like mine. but dell kinda have no solution for this..

i think dopod would be able to advise on this much further since he went all the way to get his motherboard revised by dell USA if im not mistaken.. give him a pm though...

so u just leave ur xps with whinning sound without fixing it?
*
yeah thats what i did. dell can try to fix ur motherboard, if there is still sound, they might chnage another one for u or if ur lucky a replacement.. if ur still not satisfy, they might offfer u a refund though..

Am slowly getting used to my new laptop. I like it very much cuz it's light and very portable. No problems with it, no funny sounds and all that. Build quality seemed okay also. Can't complain smile.gif Glad I went with this.
*
yeah thats very lucky.. normally dell products are not consistence. if one were to complain why one lappy does not have sounc and etc and another ones does. they ll just ruled out that the lappy is build in compliance with dell guidelines.

and at that time, they ll offer anyone concern with a refund, or u can accept with that lappy.

no la dopod brother, i think i will skip it this time...am aiming for macbook pro...i just bid for one at ebay...54mins to know if i win or not...hope i do smile.gif its tough getting a macbook pro at say around rm5K....they hold good value....i wonder if u've already got os x running...and is it reasonably fast, as in runs natively?
*
yeah i think so its better that way, no point going through all the hassle again and if u opt for xps u might not have such a valid claim anymore because u have purchased it before if anything is not fine with the laptop...

macbook pro is good. I like the back lighted keyboard.. looks cool at night hehe... but i heard its a bit hard to msn in leopard cause the webcam driver doesnt really work with msn messenger for mac produced by microsoft...

though the is 3rd party application, but i think the colour wont be that nice..

what r u guys talking about this whine tick tick sound? is it loud?
I dont hear anything.. only n if ONLY u stick ur ear to ur palmrest on the hdd, yes u will hear it spinning la laugh.gif

nways, dell is better than apple resellers in Malaysia. if u go US or outside, I opt buy a macbook/mbp.. but in Malaysia, apple reseller suxx bad time
they didnt even know what they are selling.(knowledge about their product)
*
its like a clicking sound of the hdd not scratching where it clicks when the webpage is loading.. watching youttube,.. using bit torret..and etc...

it clicks randomly.. but frequently....

yeah mac service here suck big time..

yeap. seagate 5400rpm got this tick tick sound. they replace my seagate with hitachi, and, i can feel a big difference with the previous one. It doesnt produce a signle tick sound when idle.
call dell and change it. that tick, tick, tick tick sound really annoying.
*
yeah i think.. one day we shall all meet up.. gather out testimony and pursued an action of negligence misstatement action against dell. Definitely can win this case.. i am certain of this...

can we request for hitachi hdd upon ordering?
*
no u can actually.. i tried that before. because the factory will use whatever hdd stock that is available at that time, so we can ask dell to fix a certain brand for us...

i hav some kinda sound like tik tik tik
wats wrong wit my laptop?

n i've checked my remote on my fren's xps..its working fine
but my laptop doesn't wanna detect ..guess my laptop is the one causing the problem..

my bluetooth mouse is working fine..earlier i made a complain..i realize i need to switch it on as i switch on my laptop..if u switch it on after windows  is started it wont be detected
*
i think the tick tick sound is from ur hdd. Is it a seagate brand? because normally seagate brand cause this sudden tick tick sound..

about the remote bring this issue up to dell and ask them why the remote is not working. they ll send u a new one by courier service or something..
