QUOTE(qwer312 @ Dec 23 2009, 03:32 PM) u sure they charge 2.5% of USD500 and in the end u only get back USD487.50 if withdraw through bank account? Yes its 2.5% as stated by paypal. normally you calculate like this. eg if current interbank exchange rate 3.5, then paypal will only give you exchange rate of 3.4125.

I'm sorry to ask a very noob question here. I do have someone wants to transfer money to me from overseas, can I open a paypal account link to my bank account( let's say PBB) and after the transaction done, can I withdraw the money out from the bank through ATM? Is there any extra chargers? What is the percentage of chargers like? I heard it is free to register paypal but do I need to go to bank to do anything if I want to link it to my bank saving accounts? Thank you

The paypal website says with a business account, we can accept credit card payments, and our customers do not even need to have a paypal account. Anyone figured out how to set this up?
I tried it but the CHECKOUT page actually asks my customer to create a paypal account when they pay me.
So, it's not "your customers do not even need to have a paypal account".
It's rather, "if your customers do not yet have a paypal account, we'll make them open up one just before they pay you".
The only trouble I have with this is you cannot reuse credit card numbers. Paypal remembers the actual credit card number, and doesn't allow it to be used with any other paypal accounts. Say you're the customer. You go to an online shop to buy something. At the bottom of the form, it says create a paypal password, and enter your email address. So you just insert something random in there, just to get the transaction through.
Three months later, you're buying something else at another website. When you tried the same thing, paypal pops up a page saying
You cannot use an e-mail address or card number that belongs to an existing PayPal account. If you have a PayPal account, please log in. If you don't, please change the e-mail address or card number and try again.
Most websites that accept credit cards, asks for name, card number, expiry date, cvv. Nothing else about creating accounts, remembering the login details, blocking the credit card from being used on more than one account.

Given the fact that, presumably you're doing your business in Malaysia and Paypal does not allow Malaysians to withdraw their funds from Paypal account, have you thought of getting a 3rd party credit card processor like 2Checkout.com for your business needs?
Cheers.

Oh, but they do. Now. Paypal is the most attractive as there's no setup/monthly cost. I'm considering the others. The shop isn't on yet.

Why does a merchant rejected and cancelled my order? I thought we can use Paypal to pay if it is one of the available options?
Does Paypal affected when it comes to non US-issued card? I liked my PBVE debit card to Paypal. Hope someone can help, thanks.

Hi, want to ask if i have different name(or partial same) on my paypal account and Maybank debit card or other debit card, can i successfully withdraw from paypal to debit card? Let say my paypal account registered first name is Alan and last name is Lim, while my Maybank debit card name is Lim Ah Tan (you can assume other name too as long as it has partial same name). When i add and verify maybank debit card into paypal, i fill in the correct first and last name for the card detail. The card is successfully linked. But when i want to withdraw the paypal fund to debit card, in withdraw review screen, it show Name on Card is Alan Lim which is the paypal account name, not the debit card name...will i able to withdraw it or it will rejected by the bank? Did anyone face same case before? i dun really want email paypal to change this paypal account ID becos this account i withdraw is access limited forever due to some ridiculous reason...later on i will close this account and open new account with the name on debit card, if i change this account to same name, this may lead my new account to new trouble and worst access limited again
