The paypal website says with a business account, we can accept credit card payments, and our customers do not even need to have a paypal account. Anyone figured out how to set this up?
I tried it but the CHECKOUT page actually asks my customer to create a paypal account when they pay me.
So, it's not "your customers do not even need to have a paypal account".
It's rather, "if your customers do not yet have a paypal account, we'll make them open up one just before they pay you".
The only trouble I have with this is you cannot reuse credit card numbers. Paypal remembers the actual credit card number, and doesn't allow it to be used with any other paypal accounts. Say you're the customer. You go to an online shop to buy something. At the bottom of the form, it says create a paypal password, and enter your email address. So you just insert something random in there, just to get the transaction through.
Three months later, you're buying something else at another website. When you tried the same thing, paypal pops up a page saying
You cannot use an e-mail address or card number that belongs to an existing PayPal account. If you have a PayPal account, please log in. If you don't, please change the e-mail address or card number and try again.
Most websites that accept credit cards, asks for name, card number, expiry date, cvv. Nothing else about creating accounts, remembering the login details, blocking the credit card from being used on more than one account.
