Erm.....from what ve heard M0 is generally better for oc-ing. But there are some L2 gems as well. In fact most of the gem procs are L2 i think
Added on April 10, 2008, 11:54 pmAnother thing, is there any utility to control cpu fan speed for abit ip35-e. I havent come across one yet

what i know is the probability of a gem L2 is lower than a M0... M0 is better in OC afaik. Yes Abit has fan controls in the BIOS.. search them, u will find it.. it only controls two fans.. the system fan and the cpu fan.

No...not talking bout the bios fan control, but some kinda application to control it from within windows. I've tried using the bios control but it isnt so effective. The system was unstable. Added on April 11, 2008, 1:48 amQUOTE(hengmy @ Apr 11 2008, 12:50 AM) which processor can consider as a gem? I would say smth that does high oc at low volts. Mine barely touches 3.6ghz with 1.7v but ive seen some ppl(without i tink) here having 3.6ghz at 1.5v. thats a gem! This post has been edited by joe_star: Apr 11 2008, 01:48 AM

QUOTE(hengmy @ Apr 11 2008, 12:50 AM) which processor can consider as a gem? Well the ones tht lets you OC at stock vcore to abnormal high level like 3.2Ghz well thus you have more headroom to OC higher with more stability.. Gems are like bro kucingfight and bro a1098113 proc's And results may vary for E2140/E2160/E2180 and so on.. Some are lucky some are handpicked This post has been edited by Bigblock: Apr 11 2008, 01:52 AM

Readings in windows cant be trusted. Mine says 7v Check the reading in your bios, its not fully accurate but the closest u wil get without a multimeter

IMO its the bios reading. Everest doesnt always report the bios reading, but most of the time its accurate enough.

So far so good .. Everest is the best for me..I must open it when overclocking.. It shows clock speed, utilization, temperature, voltage, free memory, fan speed, memory benchmark, my PC hardware/software/windows information and a lot more..
@calvinkli, how's ur overclock? Reach 3.0Ghz?

hye guys...
need help here: why my E2160 cannot even reach 3.0ghz? im using the M0 stepping + abit IP35-E... the max is only 2.8Ghz.. further than that, the blue screen appears..
headache la thinking of this weird E2160...

Then slowly push the FSB.. +5 and again +5 Each proc is diff in OC performance... 1.45 at 2.8 Ghz is kinda overkill... mine is a useless proc but i use stock vcore for 2.8Ghz operations

thanks in advance!
my cpu-z info core voltage around 1.296v - 1.304v bus speed is at 350.2 MHz rated fsb is at 1401.1 MHz fsb : dram 1 : 1 5 : 5 : 5 : 15
