i bought a 1996 perdana Sei last year for 22k, this year price 1996 perdana's price surely drop 18-19k maybe...

IMO, if u buy stock 1996 sei auto and convert it to evo III + labour charge, 3" piping, change to 5 lugs, branded 5 lugs rims, sunroof mabe, leather seats, alphadana bodyparts... you'll definitely will spent more than 31k... for me that 31k evo III perdana is worth it..

last time i mudah i saw an adv of perdana with evo III selling at 27k... i thnk sold oredy laa..

knight kriss, that 31k value is okay, but if that car have many xtras in it, i.e sound system, sport rims, sunroof, nice color, seats, gauge, fmic, banana, wastegate, good adjustable suspension.... it'll be worth it bro..

my perdana sei, i think i have to fork out about 7k for a complete RVR auto transplant.. complete with fmic, bov, boost gauge, exh piping, muffler.. not including adjustable suspension.. hahaha... what a waste.. if i had known this, i'll buy perdana TT manual last year instead

bro neuro...

u used stock perdana or converted one??

neen ur opinion ler......perdana with evo 3 engine manual, year 1996....price 31,000.....it is worth it????
*
mine stock only.
like masterpump commented, it's worth it.
but nego kaw kaw la first.
try to get below 30K if u can la coz 1996 price is below 20K already.

ok, if stock Perdana Sei RM20K
Evo3 halfcut RM8K
pasang RM1.8K
FMIC, IC piping, exhaust piping, muffler RM1.7K
wear n tear parts RM500

how much already?
but then, if u do the above, u will get satisfaction and u wil know how ur car will behave.
or find a really nice converted car, and u are ready to go......

a comon prblem on perdana is the stock auto gearbox.
but since mid-205, all proton has installed external ATF cooler for the gb.
so it is considered lasting la...

other than that, i dont think got any problems la.
engine, good. body, good. interior, good. thumbup.gif

i think he meant the torque convertor

leaking happens if the car bottomed out and hit the oil sump. if normal wear and tear should not happen unless you use paria replacement gasket

the torque convertor is on the opposite end of the GB oil sump, there's a drain plug to release oil as well. normally when changing ATF oil, my foreman will unscrew this plug and further drain the ATF. gasket leak can either be caused by:-

- physical damage such as oil pan hitting the ground when driving over speed bumps
- using non ori gaskets
- did not use gasket sealants when installing new gasket
- did not install the oil pan properly (gasket slipped out of place during installation or not screwed tightly)

high pressure will not cause gasket to leak (for normal wear and tear) because any pressure buildup will be released from the ATF dipstick inlet (happened to mine)

i think koh meant his atf oil sump leaking from the sides.
of not, he will say got hole or puncture..
i think its just the gasket or the sealant not bonding well or maybe slipped like u said.
and if around the torque converter got leaking, try check the oil seal on the inside of the gb behind the torque converter.

the oil pan made from very tough steel leh...i dun think it can puncture...maybe the impact is too great that the screws around it bent out of shape like what happened to my ex-colleague's V6

dear perdana sifu, i looked at mudah and there's one perdana with evo 3 engine. the price is around 30k for 1995 model.

in your opinion is it worth it?

and there's another version which is much more expensive (50k) with the same engine but a newer model (2002)

which one do you think is better?

is performance between these two are the same? what about reliability issues with the 1995 model? higher maintenance maybe??? i'm confused...

performance wise, same if the parts inside the evo3 engine is stock.
if got modifications, then not same la.
handling wise, depends on the suspension and other mods that has been done such as adding strut bars, anti-roll bars, etc..

reliability is mostly depends on the engine and gb.
the body structure still kuat. maybe got to change the bushes only.
but beware also of rust on body or undercarriage.

can overhaul at proton service centres or any workshop for that matter.
but why do u want to overhaul?
u might just need to do major service, if the car already hit 100K km mileage.

i dont know any reputable seller but i do know a reputable workshop. (its where i send my car to be maintained or repaired)

ps: i got a fren who wants to sell his white perdana 1999 v6 twin turbo manual...

to all my pv6 brothers out there. need some advice. I'm thinking of changing my springs to Eibach but i'm thinking maybe changing the Shocks to maybe GAB with springs would be better. I travel long distance and i'm on standard 16" rims. Just want something not too hard but still comfy but with better handling la.
