it doesn't matter at all where the speed is currently STILL good, as long as the company stay the same, after awhile, when it gets congested, it's still the same shit...
new users, bet your RM1000++ on the service will get better~ only God (izzi boss) will tell whether it's worth or not, not anytime sooner oso. cheers |

seriously for all ppl who wan sign for izzi....
i not saying that izzi is not good... if u wan to sign, yes ... but wait them built more base station... the network now is congested ad... although the line is stable than streamyx... but speed shit = nothing also... i would bet izzi will be the best competitor for streamyx... if there is more base station... for this moment, quite disappointed with izzi... coz they seems like not willing to fix the problems... |

Just to share with you guys.. I have signed up for izziyou recently and using it at my home in Ampang (Flat tmn dagang). Signal is not consistent, fluctuate like the stock market..
I've also tested in my office at menara kpmg, Bandar Utama (next to One Hotel n TV3). Here the signal is..wow!.. |

My guess is that the base station is somewhere near TV3, Menara kpmg/ibm or one hotel. So anyone wanna do some downloading can probably go anywhere nearby (one utama old wing maybe?) while enjoying ur tea/coffee or whatever..
update - My torrent download went up to 100+ kBps.. MAY THE BANDWIDTH BE WITH YOU |

good to hear that you've got great dl speed.
I believe that thunderstorm would affect the latency but it will not affect the signal... |

QUOTE(C@Th @ Apr 5 2008, 11:43 AM) Hey guys, the technician just come to my house and conduct the troubleshooting for my connection. Hi all, i'm not familiar with all the error that u guys facing. I'm using iZZi and it works fine. So does my friends in Damansara and others. As an IT person for almost 13 years (dial up time). Wireless is something unpredictable. Some areas can get good signal and some not at all even though it's within the coverage area. So if you telling the IZZI SALES were lying then i bet they don't. I have another Chinese friend studying at TAR and staying in Platinum Hill condo at Tmn melati which is he told me it's within Gombak coverage since the sale person told them the nearest Base Station were in Gombak. But he can't surf much and he's staying in 15th floor. They were cursing IZZI like hell and the tech guy came and then found out from the balcony that he can't see gombak town from there. Wanna know why? becoz thre's a hill blocking the gombak view. The hill near LRT putra station. So to my point of view. If the Base Station is behind the hill..for sure u can't get the signal from there. So it's not they were lying or they suck. It's becoz they didn't know where is your exact location and your surroundings environment. Coz this is really important ...let say if there's a building blocking your side. Then your signal will get worst.Guess what... no remedy for my connection speed here... he said the signal is 100% but the connection up & down and max only around 300kbps. Put antenna and plus another pointing device directly.. the connection speed is even worse than my IzziPro. This shows how sux it's... He said nothing much can be done... so, if i want to refund, then i have to go back to the reseller and get the refund again. Look like hopeless for my internet connection. btw, for those ppl who stay in USJ 2 area... your connection is mostly connecting to Sunway Hotel ... the station is over there. USJ 3 area is mostly connecting to Shah Alam station which is further and it's worse than USJ 2 area. Now, what can i do is wait for the CS supervisor to review my report and then get back to me within this few days, then i have to make my decision whether continue using it or just terminate it.. Goos luck for u guys!! Added on April 5, 2008, 11:50 am what i mean is ask the Izzi technician spent some time to test it out at your house. Dun ask them test it not within where u place ur pc... the connection speed can be seen very obvious.. Sorry, I'm not sure how's the speed in Kota Damansara. But i can suggestion you, you can go to Uptown PJ, look for th Izzi center there. i guess that is their branch there. Talk directly to them instead of ask the reseller to test! Never ask the reseller to test. They might be only simply run the test and then say OK, and ask u to sign up.. This is what i facing now... last time reseller can test with good speed.. but then the after sales service is sux! U called them, they will say call u back.. but 2 weeks after that also never call u up. Another thing, this is wireless not using ASDL cable. I can say it's something like handphone coverage (even though they - IZZI - were using FM i-burst technology). Let's take example you were using handphone, in some cases in some areas. While you were talking with your friends then so suddenly you can't listen to what your friends were saying and it's like cutting off. If this happen to handphone, so does all wireless internet. Be it iZZi, Maxis , celcom and digi. Maxis sucks bigtime coz they will throttle you. Celcom then always disconnect, digi even worst, iZZi then most easiest and also depends on location. So does all other wireless provider. Even though they said they had coverage here and there. But it happens just like what most of you here saying bout iZZi. It's all the same. Most of my friends were using iZZi and out of 20 friends only 3 had issues with slow downloading and they already refund since the tech person can't help them. So it depends on your location and also LUCK. If you come to my office at 31st Floor at Putra place in The Mall building. My office currently is using iZZi PRO with Belkin router. For the 1st week the signal is DAMN slow. The tech guy (Malay guy) came and tested out with his antenna and it didn't help much and the speed is like max 300kbps. Then later he come again with his colleague. Ping here and there, setting the router but still slow. Then they change the Lan cable.. guess what.. Finally our office got 1mb of Download. I'm surprised. It's the cable faulty. My manager actually wanna refund the IZZI pro thing and we were doin testing with CELCOM while the iZZi people find solution for us. But the thing is, CELCOM can get only 600kbps max and it keeps disconnect every single minute. Maxis pula sucks big time coz they can't reach higher floors (only up to 3rd floor), DiGi also..and to be honest..all these maxis, celcom and Digi frequent disconnect..not even pass 1 minute..it keeps disconnect... IzzI is reliable and it didn't disconnect. So when IZZI tech person managed to solve the prblem. Our office stick with them now ever since. One advice, before you purchase anything from wireless company. Make sure u asked them for a site testing at your home or office, etc. As far as i concern. Only IZZI provide such service. But my friend when to PC fair they said they don't have such service. weird? But when he called the customer service they said they have such service and the sales person did came to my friend house. I bet the PC fair booth were their reseller or Agent. make sure you tested it first since iZZi provide such services for FREE. Why not give them a try. I don't see maxis and others have such service. Also if you living on top floors apartment or office. Just go for iZZi first since others wireless provider sucks at higher floors. I'm so sorry to hear about C@t situation. It happened to my friends (only 3 la). I understand coz we paid. What to do? This is wireless...it's like that. It's UNPREDICTABLE. But anyway my friend stays in Ampang Ria Condo (near that Plaza what..near Brothers) get max DL of 800kbps constantly and sumtimes 900kbps. He's staying on the 16th floor (Note: he used maxis and celcom before and it sucks big time) Hahahahahaha...I've also tested in my office at menara kpmg, Bandar Utama (next to One Hotel n TV3). xpapanburukx, I agree with you to some extent.
In my case, my iZZi connection was fantastic during the first two weeks, and then the speed dropped like a rock. So even if I had invited a technician to test the connection at my place, I still would have been disappointed. As for being lucky, you're absolutely right. I brought my iZZi modem to a client's place in Phileo Damasara and there was a 0% signal strength there. But my friend's office in the next block had a great connection with with their iZZi. But given the responses in this thread, I think the satisfaction rate is far less than the 85% you suggested. In fact, if someone started a poll to find out how many iZZi subscribers are happy/unhappy with their service, we'd quickly find out the truth. |

In fact, if someone started a poll to find out how many iZZi subscribers are happy/unhappy with their service, we'd quickly find out the truth. If you do the poll and get the location together you might figure out some clues on which place is more better and which is prone to problems for Izzi. It is possible that the problem is commonly to the area due to blocking by high rise buildings or the geographical characteristics or congested (as some suggested). Not a bad idea. Might help anyone who wants to do some research before request for testing n sign up with Izzi. For those of you who stay near Ampang Point n One Utama within the radius of 1-2km should get a decent if not strong connection. Looks like most of the problem comes from sunway and cheras area. If anyone of you from Izzi read this, I suggest you guys do some survey on areas with most complaints and figure out the problem factors. It's gonna help improve your service. hmmmm maybe the forum admin could start a poll about this. Then everyone who read the thread would know if they should be subscribing to izzi at their area or not lo.

I think before you subscribe, you can scan your area with the basestation, it's very easy to recognize it, it's an multi OMNI antenna usually located at very tall building (arrange to look something like a vase shape). If the basestation is near then, you probably will get the coverage. I have heard that there is a limitation of connecting subscribers per base station, all user will be best effort sharing the bandwidth equally (quite common so no question asks). The transmit power of the basestation is higher than the mobile operator basestation (as claimed by their own engineers) and note that it's OMNI antenna, so if you find house that you can see the antenna nearby... prepare for extreme headache ... especially those staying on apartment penthouse ...
