you could always arrange a time for a test run. test the speed yourself. If you feel that's okay then buy it lo. If you doesn't like the speed, no harm trying it again in future.

QUOTE(colly9 @ Feb 28 2008, 11:32 PM)
i'm now using izzi, not worth paying RM98/month co zi'm experiencing almost the same problem as williamyoon. Saying in Cheras. Always dc. Even dc when i'm using normal surfing actvt like checking email @ gmail or yahoo. when i wan to reconnect, i have to plug out the terminal and plug in again. Otherwise i will get error message. it's troublesome. sometime connection speed is as slow as dial up modem. I'm staying at 12 floor. The agent told me d higher d better for izzi, but it's just sucks. Anybody has solution for me?
*
First of all, which part of Cheras are you staying at? I stay at Pandan Indah but i do not get any disconnection. p2p ain't a problem for me as the speed is more or less similiar to my previous streamyx 1Mb. The reason i terminated streamyx because is more expensive than izziyou.

I would say that most of your problem is your setting up configuration? And as for what agents told you, its true. the higher the better. but it also have to depend if the area is covered or not. Thats why, it would be best that you do a test run before purchasing it.

Hi all,

New to here, but I have comments to make and queries to ask....

Comments:
1. I subscibed IZZI and mine package is the via usb package....
    Bitcomet : 120kbps(max) @sunway university college condo
                    58kbps(max) @home near wangsa maju

*BComet running under encrpyted mode <not sure whether it affects speed or not...>
Not sure about this one

2. When I connect the modem, I get limited connectivity, got annoyed...<help perhaps??>
You can switch off the warning thing at your network connection.

3. Got dc occasionally, especially when I on it for the whole night for download and RO bots...
As for the DC thing, i believe that your area of coverage is quite unstable. You can lodge a report to the izzi customer service and when there are lots of other customer facing the same thing in your area, they would consider to build a new base station near your area provided that they get the license to built it somewhere near there.

4. Weather doesnt affects much but height is an influencial factor...<I live in 5th floor of a condo near college>
Of course weather does not affect cuz its on Radio frequency.... height is a factor because of buildings interfearence. One base station could cover up about 13Km radius out of sight but if its line of sight, it could cover up to 17~20Km.

5. Slight adjustment will cause major change in speed...
What sorts of adjustment are you talking about?

6. No prob in playing Gunbound and RO but in RO lags sometimes...
Do you have the additional antenna? Not the one which is RM38. With the antenna, it will boost your latency in gaming.

7. Line speed keeps changing... <NOT EVEN CLOSE TO STABLE>
Cuz your area coverage is not stable?

8. Surf the net while in a moving car? Think again... <OR DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!>
I had no problem surfing the net in the car (I'm not driving) but when i reach some blind spot, i have to admit that it get DC.

Queries:
1. How to get rid of the limited connectivity?
Answered above

2. Where can I get my hands on the antenna? Low Yat have one?
Which antenna are you looking at?

3. Anyone can tell me the current price of PSP?
Can't help you with PSP. Its not related with this topic. smile.gif

P/S: Above is all on the basis of factual events, I personally, have no intention in sabotaj act or in intention to mislead and confront any third                          party. And hence, not responsible in any events of suffering to anyone involved.

This is very humble of you to protect those that are selling the service in the forum. and i hope i did solve your problem.

Regards,
williamyoon

Sincerely,
Eric

There is actually another type... but i am not sure if its for sale. I'll have to look it up for you... keep this thread in tracked...

As for william, i believe he is getting the full 120KBps cuz the base station is some where there... 120KBps x 8 = 960 Kbps

Damansara perdana line had not been very stable all this while as there are other RF interruption that is built near to the base station.

currently, to my understanding, there is only izzi using RF...thats why even during rainy season, there are no interruption on the signal. Correct me if i am wrong.

Is I'm not mistaken... maybe there are some RF interference with that one use by Sri Pentas building.. and I heard izzi based tower are built at the same place too.BTW about bandwidth. it getting slow and slow now.. From my apartment at Flora Damansara, 7th floor, I only manage to get less than 300kbps only.. and the answer was very easy.. coz many people are using it already..

I also test it at my sister house at Pandan Indah, new based tower ( Feb 08 ) at 90% signal, the speed are around 600+kbps.. I'm wonder the speed if the signal was 100% huhu

This is the the test of 100% signal in Pandan Indah.

Like i say it before. Many izzi sales person would focus on their sales. they do not care much about the feedback of their customer because its not their business. All they know is to hit their monthly target so that they could get extra cash. I do not encourage end users to buy directly without doing a test run first. Still, if anybody want to subscribe, kindly contact me.

Izzipro could be used with routers but not a router modem. My suggestion would be for you to sell of that modem, buy an ethernet card so that you can link both PC together to go online using one as the main com. Else you will have to consider to buy a new router after selling your router modem.

Cuz there is a tower in Wangsa Maju area while is USJ, the tower is at USJ 1. The distance between USJ 1 and USJ 5 is pretty far thus making the signal weaker.

i didn't know there is a downgrading service... smile.gif
but since you feel that usb is slower than your pcmcia, i believe is your hardware that causes it.

that is the thing... do you realize that there is a socket on the anetnna itself to add an additional antenna? You can add the iZZi PANL012 antenna which is 12 dB Gain. This is suitable for the izzi pro. while the omni antenna is suitable for izziyou users. If you wish to get it, do let me know.

somehow, there might be lag for playing dota as the latency might that be that stable. To get a stable latency, you can try to add the antenna. it helps a lot.

yes... you can use izziyou to connect through a computer and the rest of the computer just need to share it through the computer. but i wouldn't recommend it as it is slowerer that way.. and just imagine all the cable hanging around your house. It is still the best if you get another izzipro to use.
but if you wish to be different from others, you can always purchase izziyou for yourself... wink.gif

well... i can't give any comments on the degrade but i would be thinking this way. which isp doesn't have its own problem during expansion? Once they had built sufficient base station around Klang Valley, i am sure everyone would be a happy user.

here is a tip for you guys... if you guys have the Qvod Player, When you want to stream or browse, quit the player and terminal. It drags your bandwidth.... Once you quit that, you will find yourself browsing very smoothly.
