I think before you subscribe, you can scan your area with the basestation, it's very easy to recognize it, it's an multi OMNI antenna usually located at very tall building (arrange to look something like a vase shape). If the basestation is near then, you probably will get the coverage. I have heard that there is a limitation of connecting subscribers per base station, all user will be best effort sharing the bandwidth equally (quite common so no question asks). The transmit power of the basestation is higher than the mobile operator basestation (as claimed by their own engineers) and note that it's OMNI antenna, so if you find house that you can see the antenna nearby... prepare for extreme headache ... especially those staying on apartment penthouse ...

QUOTE(Frozenlagend @ Jul 3 2008, 07:33 PM) Why there is alot of jokers around...... sick and tried of listening complaint to MCMC or tribunal. Why don't u guys just ask the MCMC wht is speed need to be full fill consumer during busy period for wireless broadband. Tm has a statement says that they full fill 70% of the suscription speed. How bout wireless...................................................... there is no law for wireless speed. waisting time only ..................... Jokers ................ I think it's MCMC dream to ensure all operator (wired and wireless) to provide 70% of the promised rate to the subsribers. But unfortunately none of the big providers will follow (imagine how many sites they need to ensure 70%), if the MCMC forces them to do so, they will just abandon the broadband project and everyone will just go back to StreamxyX (since the business case will never be justified at 70%, i doubt it can even reach 10%).

QUOTE(Vail @ Nov 21 2008, 10:45 PM) based on what i saw on Kyocera site, they say it cheap to build up the BS >.> One of the advantage of iBurst technology. Well correct me if im wrong. http://global.kyocera.com/prdct/telecom/of..._feature06.html To build a BS is an easy task for iBurst technology because they are using 360 degree omni antenna. However, finding the suitable site is the main problem. In Malaysia, Izzi is only allocated 5Mhz channel bandwidth to offer the broadband service and they have limitation to need to build the site on high rise building but not shoplots. So, to avoid interference, it will be a very difficult task to find new site to expand the coverage and to add additional capacity in an area. Meaning if an area is congested, there will be no solution to solve the problem to expand the capacity, one of the disadvantage of omni antenna. Correct me if I'm wrong.

QUOTE(Vail @ Nov 22 2008, 07:14 PM) so based one what ur saying iZZi = No hope at all cool =) Then i suggest you to cancel iZZi and subscribe another ISP. I'm not saying Izzi is no hope at all, but as an ISP (esp mobile ISP), they should be more ethical and not to over sell their capacity above the oversubscription factor they initially plan for. When the user experience drops, more users will discontinue the service, then other user will be able to enjoy faster speed. One day, the balance will be reached.

QUOTE(thechetticompany @ Nov 23 2008, 05:26 PM) So what? TMnut does the same all the time overselling their lines.Almost every month you hear them pushing with promotions to encourage the take up rates but capacity still remains.Instead of investing or ensuring that bandwidth is enough they rather opt for throttling solutions. That's not ethical

QUOTE(100plus7up @ Nov 24 2008, 11:12 PM) subang got alot of choices...like P1 Wimax(but i dunno how fast is it) i m using Izzi n i m staying at subang nearby taylors when I subscribed that time(march), i satisfied with the speed but after 3-4 months, i really fed up with the speed (max 30kb/s) my contract will end by next year i will switch to other ISP, maybe TMNet 30kbps? How long it takes for you to load and post this reply here? How do you measure 30kbps, which speedtest, it takes forever for you to complete the test if it's only 30kbps.
