May i know which pet shop in KL sells Prestige or Harry Hamster? Going to KL later

New members to the family

Bought 4 solid syrians in CTY Aquariums Penang today. 3 males & 1 female. About 5-6 weeks old. Very cheap and healthy as they CTY feed them fresh vege everyday!


3 males solids. Cream (SamSam), Umbrous (DigDig) and Sable (AshAsh)


Female solid umbrous. But she belongs to a friend who tumpang us to buy from Penang.


Now the 3 males are staying in a 2 feet tank and the female alone in the temporary tank. Going to PetShack tomorrow to get their new homes.

People in Penang can go to CTY to get as there more there.

Miss My Hamsters..all dead due to stupid cats.........it Enter my house from the roof (It's have a small hole ) jump down to my room on the forst floor and ate all 6 of them.

Beware of cats hamster lovers.........They are the main problems.

First of all, what kind of hamster do you wanna buy? Some can be put together and some can not cos they are solitary, means they can only be kept alone or else they'll fight and cause death. If you get a pair and put together, they will start breeding. Please read up the first page and know more about breeding. It'll cause you complications if you breed them without knowledge and wrong intention.

Secondly, to tame a hamster, you need to spend time and patience. Or you can get a half tame hamster from breeder. My first Syrian never bite You can get from PetShack as they have new batch of Syrians there. Advise you not to take Robos if you are a first timer cause they are difficult to tame and they move really fast and you hardly can't hold it in your hand and play with it. Anyhow, read the first page and do some research before you getting any pets to make your life easier after getting them as you have more knowledge to take care of them. All the best to you.

Added on March 5, 2008, 8:41 pm So sad to hear that. I miss my ShaSha girl too.... yet I dunno who is the main culprit nor where is she. I think I gotta beware of human rather than cats as cats can't enter from my roof as I'm staying at the top floor of the condo.

Get new hammies and this time make sure cover them properly.

No wonder your hamsters are trying to bite you!!! They are not tame cause you taming them by 'slapping', if I'm the hamster, I'll bite you even more.....

some ppl say 'blow' the hamster if it bites u.. i blew on my notti hamsters n they became too shocked to move.. ahaha damn cute lar..

I got bitten by one of my hamsters while I was feeding her. I wasn't paying attention to where my fingers were. Lots of blood.
Don't slap ur hammie! Use gentle touches and lots of food to tame it! Or u can use something to scoop it up and out of the cage. I guess they can get territorial when you try to take it out directly out of the cage.

EDIT: sometimes I also give a very light tap on the nose if d hammie tries to bite me.

Anyway, I think something went into my hamster's right eye and it got infected when he scratched it. I have brought him to see a vet and he prescribed some eye drops. I was wondering whether there are any ways for me to make him more comfortable or to soothe his itchy eye because he always scratches it and the eyelids get stuck shut because of the fluid coming from his tear glands. I sometimes have to use a cotton bud and some warm water to prise open his eyes.

my new syrian just bite me today ahaha, but it's ok coz I disturb my hamster in sleep mode hehe...anyway all my syrians will bite me if I disturb them in sleep mode, try playing with your hamster when their awake in the night ke..be patient and gud luck.

abangbrother. The 1st picture is when we brought them back from Penang to KL. That tank is used to transport them only. But now the tank is use to keep the female syrian only as our friend is getting her tomorrow.

If you have read the 2nd last line, Sangels have said we getting their new homes tomorrow from Pet Shack. And that the males are separated from the female.

We are forced to keep the 3 males together as we don't have enough tanks and we got back late from Penang. They will be in their separate homes tomorrow. Hopefully they won't get into any nasty fights tonight.

FYI - We do know they are 'we-only-live-alone' small animals. It's not our first hamster.

Thanks for the wondering. I know exactly Syrian is solitary and also know they can't be kept together for long term, that's why I've already stated there, 'tomorrow going to get them new house', maybe you want to read one more time of the post??? I planned to go PetShack to get my tanks but too bad they already closed when I reached KL from Penang, only can go by tomorrow la! They can live together in the pet shop for so long, I'm sure they can still hang on for one more night as only 3 babies in a 2 feet tank.
