I got bitten by one of my hamsters while I was feeding her. I wasn't paying attention to where my fingers were. Lots of blood.
Don't slap ur hammie! Use gentle touches and lots of food to tame it! Or u can use something to scoop it up and out of the cage. I guess they can get territorial when you try to take it out directly out of the cage.

EDIT: sometimes I also give a very light tap on the nose if d hammie tries to bite me.

Anyway, I think something went into my hamster's right eye and it got infected when he scratched it. I have brought him to see a vet and he prescribed some eye drops. I was wondering whether there are any ways for me to make him more comfortable or to soothe his itchy eye because he always scratches it and the eyelids get stuck shut because of the fluid coming from his tear glands. I sometimes have to use a cotton bud and some warm water to prise open his eyes.
