Hey guys, I have a little situation in my tank... I have 2 robos, Fat Fat and Yuu. They live in the same tank. They've always gotten along fine and like to go explore the tank together. They eat together, run on the wheel together, and groom together. They even groom each other.

I cleaned out the tank last saturday and decided to put  some toilet paper in their hamster house since whenever I put 1 piece in just for them to play and rip, they tear it up and take the trouble to drag it into the lil hamster house.

Last Saturday, they both were thrilled to enter the house and find lotsa toilet paper. From Sunday onwards, their whole activity changed. Yuu always sleeps alone now. They don't groom together or each other anymore. He takes his food and eats seperately. She takes her food and go back in the lil house.

Fat Fat just spends most of her time in that lil house. She doesn't even come out when I put food in the tank anymore. She ALWAYS stops whatever she's doing whenever it's feeding time. She's been this way all her life. In fact, it freaks me a lil because I'm afraid she died in the house and I might not know it.

Do you think I should take out all the toilet paper? It's a plastic house so I can't see what's going on in the lil house.

Aihh... put back the mineral salt and the treat stick and my WWs attacked it like they had been soooo deprived of food.

Gonna go Pets Wonderland later to see if I can find Prestige or Harry Hamster. Hopefully my hammies take well to whatever new brand I buy for them.

Should be different lar. Fat Fat is definitely a female. I think Yuu is male because I've seen him trying to hump Fat Fat.

  Fat Fat isn't a good mother. She eats her babies everytime even if I don't touch the cage for a week. She eats about 1 baby a day. 

maybe she doesnt want to be a mother..
she wants to focus more in his career?

Firstly, you already know she doesn't make a good mother, then why in the world are you letting them both live together in the same cage? You want her to get stressed up again and eat more babies?

Hope you separate them soon.....

Added on February 21, 2008, 9:08 pmToday I had a hamster shopping spree.... bought 3 new syrians and 3 robos.... 2 syrians are the Satin variety.... then 1 is a black eyed cream. Then my robos are a great find! 2 are White Face Robos! LOL....

She's an old hamster, a lot more than 2 years old, slightly less than 3 years old. Her father, Rump, was 3 when he died. She only produced babies more than a year ago and now she's pass that. She seems more calm when there's another hamster around. Can say more brave? The shop person told me that Yuu was female when I bought him. He's a lot younger then, harder to sex. Fat Fat was frightened at everything when her cage mate died. She made a good "recovery" when Yuu was introduced.

I'm just concerned because they've always gotten along really well and the change since last Sunday is very obvious. I'm just wondering if there's anything up I missed.

seems like my 2 WW are fighting for territory in the cage. the more active one won i guess, always bullied the other one. last nite they were quarelling, previously from normal arguing became a fight.

got bad injury or not... got separate ah

i've separated them last nite, tot wanna cool things down a little. put the soft in a box coz never tot he might jump out of it. this morning wake, the fella sleeping on the keyboard. then i tried to put them together this morning, straight away fight. the active fight like wanna kill the soft one in the end i separate both of them. today gonna buy another cage.
